How to Become an Air Traffic Controller (ATC)
Air Traffic Control is one of the most respected and demanding careers in aviation. Air Traffic Controllers are responsible for the safe, orderly, and efficient movement of aircraft in the air and on the ground. They work in control towers, radar centers, and approach control facilities to prevent collisions and maintain smooth air traffic flow.
In Pakistan, Air Traffic Controllers primarily work under the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority.
Main Duties of an Air Traffic Controller
Guide aircraft during takeoff and landing
Maintain safe distance between aircraft
Monitor aircraft using radar systems
Coordinate with pilots and other ATC units
Handle emergencies and weather diversions
Manage airspace traffic efficiently
Ensure compliance with aviation regulations
