Did you know Pakistan has one of Asia’s oldest and most dangerous tunnels… and its story is terrifying?
Near the Chaman-Afghan border, a massive tunnel was built during British rule, stretching nearly 5 kilometers through solid mountains. But this wasn’t just engineering… it was a nightmare.
During construction, harsh weather, deadly diseases, and extreme conditions took the lives of around 800 workers. These laborers risked everything, but many never made it out alive.
The most shocking part?
The project engineer had calculated that both sides of the tunnel would meet perfectly. Workers were digging from opposite ends for years. But just hours before completion… the tunnel hadn’t connected.
Thinking his calculations had failed, the engineer lost hope… and took his own life.
But fate had a cruel twist.
Just a few hours later… the tunnel finally connected perfectly.
His calculation was right all along.
Today, this tunnel still stands as a symbol of sacrifice, tragedy, and human determination… hidden in the mountains of Balochistan.
