More than 2.3 million Afghans have returned from Iran and Pakistan in 2025, many under pressure, and to a country facing deep poverty, political instability and a severe humanitarian funding shortfall.

We are calling for urgent international support to respond at the borders and in areas of return. Immediate needs include emergency shelter, legal assistance, protection for women and girls, mental health support and emergency financial aid.

Without urgent funding, lives are at risk, and the region’s stability hangs in the balance.

The world must act now.
