Delegation of Reko Diq Mining Company Visits NUST Balochistan Campus.

A delegation from Reko Diq Mining Company (Private) Limited (RDMC), led by General Manager RDMC, Ryan Mitchell, and Country Manager RDMC, Zarrar Jamali, along with senior officials, visited the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) Balochistan Campus on 12 May 2026.
During the visit, the delegation was briefed on NUST’s academic framework, institutional vision, and the key programs of the Balochistan Campus. The senior management from both sides discussed potential avenues and areas for future collaboration.
The delegation also interacted with students and toured the state-of-the-art laboratories and campus facilities. RDMC officials highly appreciated NUST’s contributions toward providing quality education in the province of Balochistan and expressed interest in future collaboration with NUST Balochistan Campus to support educational opportunities for the youth of District Chagai.

A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) has been signed between the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) and the NUST Balochistan Campus (NBC) Quetta, under which the Engineering Practice Examination (EPE) will be conducted at NBC Quetta. In this regard, Engr Zulqarnain Shah, Additional Registrar, representing PEC Quetta, and Engr Imran Khan, Deputy Director ICT, representing NBC Quetta, signed the MoA.

AI for Autistic children assessment, a use case. A talk by Dr. Nazia Perwaiz at nust Balochistan Campus. She currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of AI and Data Science at NUST-SEECS.

A tree plantation drive was successfully conducted at the NUST Balochistan Campus on April 27, 2026, organized in collaboration with Beaconhouse School. A delegation comprising 27 students and 4 faculty members from Beaconhouse actively participated in the activity and planted 100 saplings within the campus premises, contributing to the campus’s green and sustainable environment. The event was supervised and facilitated by faculty members Mr. Qaisar Khan and Ms. Aliya Ismail from NUST, who coordinated the activity and ensured its smooth ex*****on. The drive not only promoted environmental awareness among students but also strengthened community engagement between educational institutions.

On 22 April 2026, the Chief Minister of Balochistan visited NUST Balochistan Campus (NBC) in Quetta, where he was briefed on academic and research activities and toured campus facilities. He appreciated the university’s role in promoting quality education and innovation and emphasized the importance of equipping students with skills to address regional challenges, while reaffirming the government’s support for higher education in the province.
