Pakistan is facing a serious challenge to ensure all children, particularly the most disadvantaged, attend, stay and learn in school. While enrollment and retention rates are improving, progress has been slow to improve education indicators in Pakistan.

Owais Baloch, the General Secretary of the Balochistan Youth Foundation (BYF), expressed his heartfelt gratitude and excitement upon receiving the prestigious MCKRU reward. He acknowledged the unwavering support and dedication of the university administration, whose humility and encouragement have been instrumental in fostering an environment of growth and opportunity. Owais also emphasized the importance of such initiatives in empowering students and driving positive change.

The Vice Chairman of the Balochistan Youth Foundation, Arslan Khetran, held a significant meeting with the Vice Chancellor of Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad, Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar. During the meeting, an in-depth discussion took place regarding the education and skill development of the youth of Balochistan, as well as potential strategies to address the challenges they face.

We are excited to introduce Arsalan Khetran as the new Vice Chairman of the Balochistan Youth Foundation for a term of one year. A passionate youth and social activist, Arsalan has consistently demonstrated a commitment to empowering communities and advocating for positive change. His leadership and dedication will be instrumental in advancing our mission.

We look forward to working with Arsalan during this important time and are confident that his vision and energy will inspire others as we continue our journey to create lasting impact in Balochistan.

We are pleased to announce the appointment of the executive committee member of the Balochistan Youth Foundation.

Atif Khan has been selected as the Deputy Organizer from Killa Saifullah. We look forward to working with Atif Khan, an enthusiastic and dedicated social worker, for a tenure of one year.

The Chairman of the Balochistan Youth Foundation has been invited by the Pak Iran Youth Forum in collaboration with the Youth Organisation of Pakistan to attend an event addressing the ongoing crisis in Palestine caused by Israeli forces.

**Statement from Balochistan Youth Foundation**

We, the Balochistan Youth Foundation, strongly condemn the tragic incident where a student fell from a BUITEMS university bus and lost their life. This unfortunate event underscores the urgent need for the university to prioritize student safety and well-being.

We demand that the university treat students with the respect and dignity they deserve, rather than overcrowding buses beyond their capacity. Specifically, a bus designed for 30 students should not be carrying 70. Such practices are unsafe and unacceptable.

Furthermore, we call for a thorough audit of all funds allocated to the university to ensure they are being used appropriately. It is imperative that the university provides adequate transportation for students, as safe and reliable transport is a basic human right for those pursuing an education.
