It was department’s orientation for the new students, which was a very well executed event by our dear faculty member Assistant Professor Dr Syeda Sadia Kazmi under the leadership of Chairperson DPSIR Dr Muhammad Usman Askari. High achieving students were recognized, certificates were given and new students were welcomed.

We are grateful to our dear alumni Abdul Hamid Waris and Mudassar Ramzan for gracing the occasion and for sharing their experiences at DPSIR and their professional journey. High achieving students were recognized, certificates were given and new students were welcomed.

We are proud to announce that our alumna, Aroma Zainab, is working with The Fund for Peace as Research Assistant. The Fund for Peace is a non-governmental organization widely known for initiatives such as the Fragile States Index, which provides critical data and analysis to understand state fragility, governance challenges, and conflict risks around the world.

Our dear alumnus Bilal Hamza got appointed as the Assistant Investigation Oficer (BS-14) in the Anti Corruption Establishment.

We are honored to announce that Dr. Muhammad Shoaib Pervez, Associate Professor at the Department of Political Science & International Relations, University of Management and Technology, will be joining as a distinguished speaker at this upcoming dialogue hosted by the Centre for Critical Peace Studies.

Dr. Shoaib Pervez is widely recognized for his academic and research contributions in:

▪ Middle Eastern politics
▪ Security studies and strategic affairs
▪ Foreign policy analysis

His insights promise to deepen our understanding of peace not merely as stability, but as liberation rooted in justice, dignity, and resistance.

DPSIR is broadening its global footprint through internationalization. On Wednesday, 11 February 2026, an online meeting was held to formalize the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement with an Indonesian university. This initiative paves the way for future academic collaborations, joint seminars and conferences, academic workshops, and exchange programs.

On Jan 27, 2026 DPSIR delegation visited the Turkish Embassy in Islamabad and met Turkish Ambassador Irfan Neziroğlu. The delegation discussed academic collaborations with top Turkish universities, including student and faculty exchanges, joint research, and more!
