*Past Continuous Tense*

The Past Continuous Tense, also known as the Past Progressive Tense, is used to describe an action that was ongoing or in progress at a specific point in the past. It highlights the duration or continuity of an action, rather than its completion.

*Formation:*

- Subject + was/were + verb-ing (e.g., I was studying, they were watching)

*Usage:*

- Describe an action that was happening at a specific time in the past (e.g., I was studying at 9pm last night)
- Show an action that was in progress when another action occurred (e.g., I was cooking dinner when the phone rang)
- Emphasize the duration of an action in the past (e.g., They were working on the project for three months)

*Examples:*
