In recognition of his dedication, perseverance, and outstanding success, the university presented him with the Award of Excellence as a tribute to his inspiring accomplishment.

Mr. Omar Farooq’s achievement reflects the values of hard work, commitment, and academic excellence that Abasyn University strives to cultivate among its students and alumni. His success serves as a source of inspiration for aspiring professionals and future CSS candidates across the country.

The Department of Pharmacy, Abasyn University organized a Medicinal plant collection study tour from 12th to 16th May 2026 for Pharm-D (6th Semester) students. The trip provided students with a valuable opportunity to explore the rich diversity of medicinal flora across different ecological regions.

The educational excursion was designed to enhance students’ practical understanding of pharmacognosy, ethnobotany, and the therapeutic significance of medicinal plants used in both traditional and modern healthcare systems.

During the tour, students visited various natural habitats and ecosystems, where they collected, observed, and identified numerous medicinal plant species under the supervision and guidance of faculty members.

The study tour served as an excellent combination of academic learning and field experience, enabling students to connect theoretical concepts with practical applications. It not only strengthened their scientific knowledge but also fostered teamwork, research skills, environmental awareness, and a deeper appreciation for nature’s role in medicine.

The Department of Pharmacy extends sincere appreciation to the faculty members whose dedication, participation, and enthusiasm made this educational trip both successful and memorable.

Such experiential learning opportunities continue to play a vital role in shaping competent future pharmacists and researchers.

The ceremony was attended by graduating students, parents, faculty members, distinguished guests, and members of the university administration, making it a memorable and joyous occasion filled with pride and celebration.

Addressing the ceremony, the 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐆𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭, 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐫 𝐊𝐡𝐲𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐤𝐡𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐤𝐡𝐰𝐚 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐥 𝐊𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐦 𝐊𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢, stated that the youth are the bright future of the nation and that higher education plays a vital role in national development. He congratulated the graduates and expressed hope that they would utilize their knowledge and skills in the service of the country and society.

On this occasion,𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐲𝐧 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐮𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐝 𝐈𝐦𝐫𝐚𝐧 𝐔𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐡, emphasized that the university remains committed to promoting quality education, research, and innovation. 16th Board of Studies Meeting

On May 16, 2026, the 16th Board of Studies (BoS) meeting for the Department of Technology and MS Electrical Engineering Department was successfully held at the Abasyn University Peshawar Campus.

The meeting was chaired by Engr. Mian Shah Nawaz, Head of the Department of Technology, and was attended by esteemed BoS members of both Peshawar and Islamabad Campuses.

Various important agenda items regarding the Department of Technology at both the Peshawar and Islamabad campuses were discussed in detail to further strengthen academic excellence and departmental development.

𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟏𝟒, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 – 𝐏𝐞𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫: Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University (SBBWUP), Peshawar, in collaboration with Abasyn University Peshawar and the 𝐄𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐚, organized the 1st International Art Exhibition under the theme “𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐧 & 𝐏𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐢 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞. The exhibition was planned to be at SBBWUP but due to some reason was shifted to Abasyn University Peshawar.

𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐮𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐝 𝐈𝐦𝐫𝐚𝐧 𝐔𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐡, 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐲𝐧 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐞𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫, delivered the welcome note and emphasized the importance of international academic and cultural partnerships in promoting peace, creativity, and mutual understanding.

𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐫. 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐢𝐚 𝐀𝐡𝐦𝐞𝐝, 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐁𝐁𝐖𝐔𝐏,
expressed gratitude to the distinguished guests, diplomats, collaborating institutions, faculty members, and students for making the event successful. She reaffirmed the University’s commitment to promoting international collaboration, cultural diversity, and creative engagement among students.

During the meeting, extensive discussions were held on strengthening academic and institutional collaboration between Pakistan, Romania, and Belgium. The participants agreed on multiple areas of cooperation including academic partnerships, student and faculty exchange programs, joint research initiatives, women empowerment projects, cultural and educational diplomacy, scholarships and higher education opportunities, conferences and diplomatic dialogues, digital and technological collaboration, language and cultural learning centers, community engagement projects, and organization of international art exhibitions and cultural festivals.

𝐃𝐫. 𝐒𝐲𝐞𝐝 𝐔𝐦𝐚𝐫 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐪, 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐲𝐧 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐞𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫, emphasized the importance of promoting regional connectivity between South Asia and Europe through higher education, research, innovation, and intercultural collaboration. The meeting also focused on collaborative initiatives in the areas of climate change, peace and diplomacy, public health, social sciences, technology, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development.
Addressing the participants, 𝐀𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐮 appreciated the collaborative efforts of the institutions and highlighted the role of art and education in strengthening relations between Romania and Pakistan.𝐀𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐞𝐬-𝐈𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐝 𝐕𝐚𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐭 𝐝𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐰𝐚𝐞𝐥 shared his views on intercultural dialogue and international cooperation, while Mr. Qazi Masood Ahmad Qazi stressed the significance of cultural diplomacy and educational partnerships in promoting regional collaboration.
During the meeting, 𝐌𝐬. 𝐓𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐙𝐢𝐚, 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐫, 𝐒𝐁𝐁𝐖𝐔𝐏, highlighted that the University and its affiliated institutions across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa can serve as an important platform for strengthening academic and cultural connectivity between Pakistan and Europe through exchange programs, joint research, and educational collaboration.

Following the board meeting, the opening ceremony of the 1st International Art Exhibition was held at SBBWUP. The exhibition, curated by 𝐃𝐫. 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐚 𝐒𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐣 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐫𝐭 & 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧, 𝐒𝐁𝐁𝐖𝐔𝐏, showcased artistic works celebrating the rich cultural and artistic heritage of Romania and Pakistan.

The event also included an interactive Q&A session with the ambassadors, followed by the exchange of souvenirs and shields among the dignitaries and organizers. During the exhibition visit, students of the Department of Art & Design presented their artwork and handmade souvenirs to the distinguished guests as a gesture of cultural appreciation and artistic exchange.

The exhibition provided students and visitors with a unique opportunity to experience cross-cultural creativity and dialogue through art while promoting international artistic collaboration and mutual understanding between Pakistan and European countries.

On the occasion of 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐚 𝐃𝐚𝐲, students from Abasyn University visited the Alkhidmat Thalassemia Center. The purpose of this visit was to raise awareness about Thalassemia and spend meaningful time with the innocent children who are battling this disease with immense courage and resilience.

We spent quality time with the children—talking to them, listening to their challenges, and offering them encouragement. Their innocent smiles truly touched our hearts.

This visit was both memorable and enlightening for us. We have resolved to continue participating actively in such welfare initiatives to support the vulnerable and needy members of our society.
