Dr. Adnan Hayat (Alumnus, Department of Mathematics, University of Peshawar)
The Department of Mathematics, University of Peshawar proudly celebrates the success of its alumnus, Dr. Adnan Hayat.
After completing his MSc (2011–2013) at UoP and an MS (2014–2016) at COMSATS, Dr. Hayat earned a fully funded PhD at the Max Planck Institute, Germany (2017–2024). His research in liquid chromatography produced publications and international conference presentations.
Since May 2025, he has been serving as a Mathematician in Life Insurance and Capital Investments at Itzehoer Versicherungen, Germany, applying mathematical models to real-world financial challenges.
Faculty members note: “Dr. Adnan’s journey reflects the strong foundations of our department and serves as an inspiration for future students-Dr Muhammad Farooq, Assistant Professor."

Ms. Ambareen completed her MPhil in Statistics under the supervision of Dr. Syed Mohammad Asim. Her research topic was "Statistical Modelling of Mothers' Health Seeking Behaviour in Pakistan".
The examiner was Dr. Muhammad Shafiq, Associate Professor of Statistics, Kohat University of Science & Technology.

Department of Statistics:

Mr. Abdul Majid has successfully defended his Ph.D dissertation on Friday, September 5, 2025. His research work, titled "Modelling for Setting and Chasing the target in T-20 international cricket," was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Qamruz Zaman.

The dissertation defense committee consisted of Prof. Dr. Yousaf Hayat, Chairman of the Department of Statistics, Mathematics, and Computer Science, as the external examiner, and Dr. Muhammad Farooq, Lecturer in Statistics at the University of Peshawar, as the internal examiner.

This achievement marks a significant milestone in Mr. Majid's academic journey, demonstrating his expertise in statistical modeling and its application to sports analytics. His research contributes to the field of sports statistics, providing valuable insights into target setting and chasing in T-20 international cricket.
