The Regional Director,
National University of Modern Languages (NUML),
Peshawar.
Subject: REQUEST TO ADDRESS STUDENTS’ GRIEVANCES ON PRIORITY BASIS.
Respected Sir,
With due respect, we, the students of NUML, wish to draw your kind attention toward some important matters that are directly affecting our academic performance and campus life. We humbly request that these grievances be addressed on a priority basis for the collective welfare of the student body.
1. Space for Refreshment, Sitting, and Sports:
The existing building and common areas are too small to accommodate the growing number of students. There is an urgent need for a proper, spacious area where students can sit, relax, and engage in healthy recreational activities during free hours.
2. Revision of Make-Up Exam Policy:
The fee of make-up exam is increased from two thousand to seven thousand per paper this put extra financial burden on students, moreover the production of death certificate within three days is not feasible. In view of the stated points the make-up exam policy shall be revised.
3. Promotion of Sports and Physical Activities:
Regular sports events and provision of sports facilities are essential for students’ physical and mental well-being. We request the administration to initiate a structured sports program.
4. Availability of First Aid Staff:
Many students have faced medical emergencies on campus without immediate assistance. A qualified first aid team or nurse should be available during university hours.
5. Arrangement of Study Tours:
Study tours related to various disciplines will provide practical exposure and enhance learning outcomes. We request such tours be made a regular part of the academic calendar.
6. Improvement of Canteen Facilities:
The existing canteen lacks sufficient space and variety of hygienic food. We request a proper canteen with affordable, healthy, and fresh options for students.
7. Separate Seating Areas for Male and Female Students:
Proper seating arrangements are required in common areas to ensure comfort, convenience, and cultural appropriateness for all students.
8. Prevention of Character Assassination of Teachers on Social Media:
Certain social media trends have caused distress and disrespect towards faculty members. We request the university to take appropriate measures to preserve the dignity of both teachers and students.
9. Provision of Transport System:
A proper transport system shall be provided to facilitate safe and timely transportation.
10. Celebration of Cultural Day and Extracurricular Activities:
Organizing cultural and literary events will promote national harmony, creativity, and student engagement.
11. Outdoor Competitions with Other Universities:
Inter-university competitions in sports, debate, and academic fields will enhance NUML’s reputation and students’ confidence.
12. Progress on PM Laptop Scheme:
Progress report on provision of Laptops to students who availed PM Laptop Scheme shall be communicated.
In view of the above, we sincerely request your kind consideration and immediate action. We also request that a formal response to this letter be provided within 24 hours of its receipt, so that students may remain informed about the university’s plan of action.
Thanking you in anticipation of your cooperation and understanding.
Yours obediently,
All Students of NUML
