It has been a citadel of academic excellence that has been responsible for producing leaders, scholars and professionals in society.

Edwardes College was Founded in 1900 by the Church Missionary Society, Edwardes was the first institution of higher education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and it was the natural outgrowth of Edwardes School, which was founded in 1855. The Library was founded to facilitate the students in their respective disciplines
