خیبر پختونخوا احساسِ شجر کاری مہم!

چیئرمین اور قائد عمران خان کے ویژن کے مطابق عید اور یومِ پاکستان کے موقع پر حکومتِ خیبر پختونخوا کی جانب سے ایک تاریخی شجرکاری مہم کا آغاز کیا جا رہا ہے۔ وزیرِ اعلیٰ خیبر پختونخوا محمد سہیل خان آفریدی کی ہدایت پر 23 مارچ کو صوبہ بھر میں ایک ہی دن میں 10 لاکھ پودے لگانے کا ہدف مقرر کیا گیا ہے۔

عوام سے اپیل ہے کہ وہ اس قومی مہم میں بھرپور حصہ لیں اور اپنے لگائے گئے پودوں کی تصاویر یا ویڈیوز https://ehsaaseshajar.kp.gov.pk پر شیئر کریں۔

یہ مہم صوبے کو سرسبز بنانے، موسمیاتی تبدیلی سے نمٹنے اور ایک مضبوط پاکستان کے عزم کا عملی اظہار ہے۔ حکومت اس اقدام کو تسلسل کے ساتھ جاری رکھتے ہوئے 14 اگست کو 14 لاکھ پودے لگانے کی منصوبہ بندی بھی کر رہی ہے۔

تمام اضلاع کو سرکاری نرسریوں سے پودوں کی فراہمی مکمل ہو چکی ہے، جبکہ شجرکاری مہم کا باقاعدہ آغاز صبح 9 بجے ہوگا اور آخری پودا لگانے تک جاری رہے گا۔ مہم کی مؤثر نگرانی کے لیے خصوصی سافٹ ویئر، مرکزی کنٹرول سینٹر، اور لائیو مانیٹرنگ کا نظام قائم کیا گیا ہے۔

تمام سرکاری و تعلیمی ادارے، سول سوسائٹی، کمیونٹیز اور قانون نافذ کرنے والے ادارے اس مہم میں بھرپور شرکت کریں گے، تاکہ خیبر پختونخوا کو ایک سرسبز اور پائیدار مستقبل کی جانب گامزن کیا جا سکے۔

A meeting was held via Zoom under the chairmanship of the Honorable Minister for Higher Education Department regarding the introduction of Electronic Attendance Monitoring System for the students of government colleges across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The meeting was attended by the Secretary HED, Special Secretary HED, and the Director, Higher Education along with his team.

The basic objective of this system is to properly monitor student attendance in colleges and bring it in line with other high-level educational institutions. During the meeting, the Director HEMIS Cell provided a detailed briefing on the proposed mechanism.
Under this system, electronic attendance of the students will be recorded and SMS notifications will be forwarded to the parents/guardians of those students who remain absent for a single class or whole day ensuring timely information and improved monitoring of student attendance.
It was also suggested by the Honorable Minister and the Secretary HED that other important modules like progress reports etc may also be incorporated in the updated version of the system to further strengthen the institutional management.

The Higher Education Department, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in collaboration with T *he Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), Akhtar Hameed Khan Foundation (AHKF), and Code for Pakistan (CFP),* is launching the *Digitalization for Women Economic Empowerment (D4WEE)* initiative to equip women with market-relevant digital skills and connect them with employment opportunities.

A coordination meeting between the Higher Education Department and partner organizations was held on 10 March 2026 to finalize arrangements for the project launch.

The initiative will train 6,000 young women (ages 18–35) across Peshawar, Mardan, and Swabi, aiming to enable 5,400 participants to generate income through freelancing, digital employment, or entrepreneurship. The project will also establish six digital learning centers in Government Colleges and provide structured mentorship for 600 women to strengthen their professional growth.

This initiative reflects the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s vision of investing in human capital and promoting women’s participation in the digital economy, under the guidance of Mr. Meena Khan Afridi, Minister for Higher Education.

As part of the KPCVE Action Plan (March–May) 2026, an exclusive lecture titled “Pakistan: A Land of Opportunities Role of Higher Education in Preventing Extremism” was organized by the Youth Development Center and Directorate of Students’ Societies at the University of Malakand.

Prof. Dr. Iftikhar Ahmad (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz), eminent educationist and former Vice Chancellor of Abbottabad University of Science & Technology and Gomal University, delivered the lecture and highlighted the key role of higher education institutions in preventing and countering violent extremism. He emphasized that educational institutions are drivers of socio-economic change and that Pakistani youth are a valuable asset in rejecting extremist ideologies and promoting tolerance, inclusivity, and positive societal transformation.

Prof. Dr. Rashid Ahmad, Vice Chancellor University of Malakand, graced the occasion as Chief Guest and underscored the importance of dialogue, tolerance, and respect for diverse opinions in building a peaceful and progressive society. The session was attended by faculty members, students, and administrative staff.

Meeting regarding B.S and A.D curriculum standardization and uniformity for KP colleges and universities under HEC guidelines held under the chair of Minister Higher Education Meena Khan Afridi. Minister appreciated the role of core committee of HED along with all subject committees convenors and it's members for their efforts in uplifting quality education in KP institutions. Recommendations wil be now forward to KP cabinet for final approval and onward circulation among KP institutions for it's implementation from Fall 2026. Meeting was attend by Anwar Khan MPA, chairman standing committee of higher education, special secretary HED Sharif Hussain, additional secretary university Muhammad Farooq, Dr Imran Ullah Marwat, Director Quality Assurane HED, Dr Fahim Nawaz advisor to minister higher education and others.

An impactful awareness session on anti-corruption was held at Institute of Management Sciences (IMSciences) in collaboration with National Accountability Bureau as part of its annual outreach activities.

The session highlighted NAB’s role, key achievements, and ongoing efforts to promote transparency and accountability across Pakistan. Additional Director NAB, Mr. Aftab Khan, addressed the students, emphasizing integrity, collective responsibility, and the vital role of youth in building a corruption-free society. Students also took an oath to remain loyal to Pakistan and refrain from corrupt practices.

The event concluded with an awareness walk led by the Director IMSciences, Additional Director NAB, Deputy Director NAB, faculty members, and students symbolising a shared commitment to ethical values, good governance, and accountability.
