The Gastroenterology Medicine Elective offers students a unique opportunity to gain firsthand exposure to the diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary diseases. Throughout the rotation, participants observe endoscopic procedures including upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, and ERCP, while learning the clinical reasoning behind patient evaluation, procedural planning, and post-procedure care.
