As part of my networking learning journey, I recently reviewed DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) and DNS (Domain Name System)—two essential services that keep modern networks running efficiently.

🔹 DHCP automatically assigns IP addresses and network settings using the DORA Process:
📡 Discover → 📨 Offer → 📝 Request → ✅ Acknowledge

🔹 DNS translates domain names into IP addresses, making internet communication simple and seamless.

Understanding these core technologies is fundamental for every Network Engineer, as they form the backbone of enterprise and service provider networks.

💡 DHCP is actually easier than many people think. Once you understand the DORA process, everything starts to make perfect sense!

🌐 OSPF vs EIGRP – Understanding Dynamic Routing Protocols

As part of my continuous networking journey, I recently reviewed the key differences between OSPF and EIGRP, two widely used dynamic routing protocols in enterprise networks.

🔹 OSPF is an open-standard Link-State protocol that uses the SPF algorithm, making it highly scalable and ideal for multi-vendor environments.

🔹 EIGRP is an advanced Distance Vector protocol that uses the DUAL algorithm, providing fast convergence and efficient route selection in Cisco-based networks.

📚 Understanding how routing protocols calculate paths, exchange routing information, and respond to network changes is essential for designing reliable and resilient networks.

Every lab and concept learned brings me one step closer to my goal of becoming a skilled Network Engineer focused on Network Security and Network Automation. 🚀
