A ceremony was arranged at the committee room of Elementary & Secondary Education Department Peshawar on 10th July, 2025 to bid farewell to the departing Secretary E&SE Department Mr. Masood Ahmed who served the Department from December 2023 to 9th July 2025. The event was also marked by arrival of the new Secretary Mr. Muhammad Khalid who took charge of his duty afterward.
Mr. Masood Ahmed contributions to the E&SE was highly praised for his commitment and achievements in terms of improved governance system in the department, streamlining posting transfers to ensure teachers availability in schools, developing effective mechanism for monitoring of teacher’s attendance and availability of basic facilities in schools through Education Monitoring Authority (EMA), reforms in the examination system, transparency in the department, enhanced enrollment of out-of-school children and taking actions against those involved in malpractices and using unfair means in examinations.
While speaking on the occasion, Mr. Masood Ahmed highlighted the importance of quality education and the pivotal role of the school and its environment in building the character of a child and the community at large. He appraised that keeping this aim in mind, the E&SE has developed a shared vision for 2040 with pronounced motivation led by creativity and innovation.
He hoped to see fruits of the vision through successful implementation in the eyes of 20 years grown up men and women who are just 5 years old at the moment.
