Quality Assurance Review Visit of HED KP team to Hazara University Mansehra on 30-08-2021

Delegation from Namal University Mianwali visited Higher Education Department KP Peshawar regarding joint venture for Promotion of Higher Education. Meeting was held at committee Room of HED KP under the chair of Mr Dawood Khan, Secretary HED KP along with other senior management of HED including Advisor Quality Assurance Dr Shafiq ur Rahman, DG Commerce Prof Nadeem , Director Higher Education Prof Zahoor Ul Haq, Director HEART Prof Tasbih Ullah, Director Quality Assurance Imran Ullah Marwat, Additional Director Academic Dr Fazle HaDi & Shahan Zeb Khan Bangash Assistant Director QA HED. Team of Namal University was headed by Prof Dr Asmat Ullah Khan Rector Namal, Dr Tanvir Afzal, Dr Sajid Bashir & Dr Basharat Javed. Presentation was given by Rector Namal on various activities and facilities at Namal along with its NEDC activities which provide training on various matters related to higher education leadership and governance and other matters. Namal is the institute established by Prime Minister Imran Khan for providing quality education to the poor and deserving students where 97% students are studying free in the campus with all modern technology and other facilities. Both sides agree to cooperate and work for future regarding academic and training jointly. At the end souvenir were presented to both sides.

Quality Assurance Award & HEC Capacity Building Ceremony by HED KP Peshawar
Higher Education Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Peshawar organize ceremony for Quality Assurance Awards & HEC Capacity building program in Peshawar. Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Higher Education and Information Mr Kamran Bangash was the chief guest whereas Dawood Khan, Secretory Higher Education Department was guest of honor. Parliamentary Secretary of KP Assembly on Higher Education Ms Ayesha Bano was also present on the occasion. Ceremony was also attended by Dr Shaheen Sardar Ali, Rector NAHE, HEC Islamabad, Mr.Nasir Shah Managing Director QAA HEC Islamabad, Dr Shafiq Ur Rahman, Advisor Quality Assurance HED, Imran Ullah Marwat Director Quality Assurance HED, Ihsan Ullah Additional Secretary Universities HED, Vice chancellors of KP Public Sector Universities and Principals & Faculty Members of Colleges and Universities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. On the occasion Quality Assurance awards were distributed among 07 Vice chancellors of KP Public Sector Universities and 40 colleges offering BS program for their great services in the field of Quality Assurance in Higher Education. HEC Islamabad with support of NAHE & PERU has recently conducted first batch training of 300 faculty members of KP colleges so certificates were distributed among successful participant. On the occasion Secretary HED Mr. Dawood Khan emphasis on the quality of education that KP government will do all its efforts for providing quality of education to the students of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He congratulates all the participant for getting the award and certificate on training completion. Kamran Bangash, a chief guest announced the launching of law colleges in KP in 7 division of the province, he further added that 30-40 model colleges will be selected among current existing main colleges which will be provided more fund so that these colleges can have no issue of finance. He further said that KP government is going to launch “Education Card” like health card in which poor students of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will get education across Pakistan. He further announced that from next year provincial ranking will be carried out for Universitas and Colleges of the KP in consultation of Quality Assurance team. Vice Chancellors and Principals appreciated the efforts of HED KP for arranging such ceremony and they assure that they will do their best in their institutions for the students.

July 8, 2021 Islamabad: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Special Assistant on Higher Education Mr. Kamran Bangash visited Higher Education Commission (HEC) Islamabad for discussion on various matters pertaining to higher education in KP .Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Higher Education Department Peshawar team was led by Kamran Bangash SACM on higher education accompanied by Dr Shafiq-ur-Rehman, advisor Quality Assurance, Imran Ullah Khan Marwat, Director Quality Assurance and Dr Fazl Hadi, Director Academic. HEC team was headed by Executive Director Dr Shaista Sohail and accompanied by HEC Advisor Mr Awais Ahmad, Director Academic Sulaiman Ahmed and HEDP Program coordinator Maryam Riaz Watto. Agenda of the meeting was regarding HEC's Undergraduate Education Policy 2020, P-15, HEDP, and establishment of Centers of Excellence in IT in provinces. In 2019 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government decided to launch Associate Degree on semester base by replacing conventional B.A/B.Sc from Fall 2020 and all Universities has already implemented it accordingly in all Non BS Colleges. same will continue in future along with B.S program in colleges and universities. SACM on H.E Kamran Bangash emphasize that program should be designed as per student employability and market oriented subject should be offered. HEC Executive Director appreciated the KP government support to HEC and assure full support from HEC side for the students of KP in various matters of Higher Education. Both side assure full support and strengthening coordination with each other.
