The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) successfully facilitated the Programme Review for Effectiveness and Enhancement (PREE) Assessment Visit for the BS English Programme today under the HEC Revamped QA Framework (PSG-2023).
The Assessment Team (AT) constituted by the IQC comprising External Experts Dr. Tariq Mahmood (NUML) & Mr. Ijaz Ahmad (IMSciences), Internal Members Mr. Zeeshan Ullah, Director QEC, Dr. Younas Khan, Department of Pakistan Studies, ICP & Dr. Hamid Ullah, Department of Management Sciences, ICP, Program Team Members Dr. Waqar Ali (Focal Person), Ms. Norah Arif & Barishna Qasim, conducted a comprehensive evaluation.
The day involved a rigorous desk audit of the Self-Assessment Report (SAR) and physical inspection of subject-specific facilities The visit concluded with highlighting key strengths and actionable pathways for continuous enhancement!
Special thanks to the Department of English and the Program Team for their thorough preparation. Together, we remain committed to raising the bar for higher education excellence!

Islamia College Peshawar commenced the fist session of the 2 days training for its esteemed faculty!

Today's session (Session 1), jointely organized by the Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) and the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), focused on providing invaluable guidance for the HEC Best University Teacher Award. Our faculty members engaged in an interactive discussion on navigating the application process and recognizing excellence in teaching.

The session also featured a vital online training component, covering key areas like PSG 2023, PREE, a corner stone for quality assurance.

A huge thank you to all the participants for your active engagement and commitment to continuous learning. Your participation is highly appreciated.

We look forward to seeing our faculty members again for Session 2 on Research Supervision, Ethics, Curriculum Alignment and Assessment Evaluation and allied matters.

Training Series for Affiliated Colleges Continues

​On the directives of the worthy Vice-Chancellor of Islamia College Peshawar (ICP), Prof. Dr. Ahmad Ur Rehman Saljoqi, the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) ICP continued its training series for affiliated colleges of ICP.

Under the leadership of Mr. Zeeshan Ullah, Director QEC ICP, the team visited Frontier Homeopathic Medical College (FHMC) Peshawar to conduct the first day of the training series for the affiliated colleges of ICP.

​Frontier Homeopathic Medical College is widely recognized as a premier institution for homeopathic education in Pakistan. Notably, the college's Diploma in Clinical Psychology is offered in affiliation with Islamia College Peshawar.

​During the first day of activities, the faculty and staff of FHMC were given a detailed briefing regarding the rich history and overview of Islamia College Peshawar, along with a review of the various academic programs currently being offered. Following this, the participants were thoroughly briefed on the vital role of the QEC and the quality assurance and enhancement practices designed to elevate academic standards across affiliated colleges.

​At the conclusion of the session, Dr. Col (Retd) Iqbal Shahin, the Director, and prominent leader of Frontier Homeopathic Medical College, expressed his gratitude and thanked the visiting QEC team from Islamia College Peshawar for their valuable guidance and collaboration. In a wonderful gesture of academic harmony, Dr. Iqbal Shahin presented the visiting team with a gifted copy of the book authored by him on Seerat Un Nabi (SAW).

​The QEC remains dedicated to working hand-in-hand with all affiliated colleges to build a lasting culture of educational excellence.

The Quality Enhancement Cell successfully conducted the final two modules of the training series for the faculty and staff of Jamal International Degree College, the affiliated college of Islamia College Peshawar.
​The 3rd session focused directly on the core of classroom success, covering the teaching and learning process, curriculum alignment, setting clear learning outcomes, choosing the best study materials and the right teaching methods. This highly impactful session was delivered by Dr. Muhammad Umer, Associate Professor, Department of English, who shared his incredible expertise and vast experience in this area with the participants.
The 4th and final session focused on the examination rules, regulations, and the proper conduct of exams. This module was delivered by Mr. Imtiaz Hussain, Deputy Controller of Examinations.

We started our first day by inspecting the college's overall campus facilities and academic infrastructure to ensure baseline excellence. Following the physical review, we transitioned into our initial presentations, diving into the rich history of quality education at Islamia College Peshawar and concluding the afternoon with an interactive session focused on Quality Assurance and enhancement, self assessment process and institutional governance.

A huge thank you to the management, faculty, and staff of Jamal International College for their warm welcome and active participation! We look forward to working closely together over the next three sessions as we continue to elevate academic standards, align our strategic goals, and build a lasting culture of excellence across all of our affiliated institutions.

The Quality Enhancement Cell, Islamia College Peshawar organized a one-day training workshop on "Psychological Issues During Teaching and Learning Process" held on April 30, 2026.

​We were honored to have Dr. Salma Rehman, esteemed Lecturer from the Department of Psychology, Islamia College Peshawar serve as our Resource Person. Dr. Rehman provided invaluable insights into the mental and emotional dynamics of the modern classroom, focusing on ​Identifying Student Barriers, Teacher Well-being, Creating a supportive space that fosters both academic and emotional growth.

The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), Islamia College Peshawar (ICP) successfully organized an interactive session today, Tuesday, January 20, 2026, for the Program Teams (PTs) / Departmental Quality Enhancement Committees (DQECs).

​The session focused on guiding faculty members through the Self-Assessment Report (SAR) writing process, specifically aligned with PREE standards under the Higher Education Commission’s (HEC) new Quality Assurance framework, PSG 2023. This initiative serves as a vital continuation of the specialized training previously organized by the QEC on November 10, 2025.

This workshop addressed challenges in SAR writing to ensure all departments are equipped for the self-assessment process.

In his address, Prof. Dr. Izhar Ahmad, Director QEC, ICP emphasized the necessity of collective efforts. He stressed that improving the quality of teaching programs requires the active support and input of all stakeholders.

He further stated that the QEC team is always available to guide the PTs in this process and will continue to arrange dedicated sessions to resolve any issues arising during the self-assessment cycle.

​Together, we are committed to improving the quality of education at ICP.

3rd Meeting of the Institutional Quality Circle (IQC) held at Islamia College Peshawar on January 06, 2026
The 3rd meeting of the Institutional Quality Circle (IQC) was held under the auspices of the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), Islamia College Peshawar, and was chaired by Prof. Dr. Ahmad-ur-Rahman Saljoqi. The meeting was attended by Heads of Departments, Heads of Sections and Principal ICP.

During the session, Prof. Dr. Izhar Ahmad, Director QEC, briefed the forum on the revised QA framework, PSG 2023, mandate and functions of the IQC, recent institutional developments, priority targets and task allocation across various sections. The discussion emphasized embedding a culture of quality at all levels of the institution, ensuring that quality assurance and continuous improvement remain shared institutional responsibilities.

Key agenda points discussed included:
▪ Confirmation of the minutes of the 2nd IQC meeting held on 13 August 2025
▪ Overview of the Pakistan Precepts, Standards & Guidelines (PSG-2023) QA Framework
▪ Review of the QEC Annual Activity Calendar 2025
▪ Examination of Compliance Implementation Plans for RIPE (2024–25) and Graduate Program Review (GPR) (2024–25)
▪ Initiation of the Self-Assessment Process under PREE Standards (PSG-2023)
▪ Sharing of key takeaways from the 3-day QAA-HEC training workshop on the revised QA framework held at CECOS University Peshawar.

The Vice Chancellor reaffirmed a zero-tolerance policy towards quality compromise, stressing strict adherence to approved policies and timely compliance with all quality parameters. He underscored the responsibility of Heads of Departments for the accurate and timely submission of Self-Assessment Reports (SARs) in accordance with new PREE standards issued by QAA, HEC, reinforcing the institution’s commitment HEC's guidelines, accountability and academic excellence.
