CCRI Pirsabak successfully hosted a Field Day on New Wheat Varieties, Production Technology & Zinc Biofortification under the CIMMYT-funded Zn–Pakistan Project.
We were honored to welcome Chief Guest Dr. Abdul Bari (Senior Director Outreach) and Guests of Honor Dr. Gulzar Ahmad (Senior Director ARI Tarnab) and Dr. Sajjad (DDA Extension Nowshera).

Director CCRI, Pirsabak, Fazli Wahab, warmly received all participants and shared a brief on ongoing research initiatives and their impact.
Agriculture Research scientists, Agriculture Extension field staff, and progressive farmers actively participated. Zinc biofortification and production technology were thoroughly discussed by Dr. Khalid SRO Wheat ARI Tarnab and Dr.Ishaq SRO Wheat CCRI Pirsabak

Special appreciation for PRO Wheat, Dr. Amjid Ali, for organizing such a successful and impactful event.
Together, we continue to strengthen wheat research and promote improved technologies for farmers.

A Zoom session was hosted by CCRI Pirsabak on 12 November 2025, chaired by Dr. Abdur Rauf, Director General Agriculture Research, KP, along with Fazli Wahab, Director CCRI Pirsabak, and Mr. Inayat, Regional Director FSC&RD, Peshawar.

The meeting focused on seed multiplication of CCRI wheat varieties in Punjab, engaging leading Punjab seed companies to strengthen inter-provincial collaboration in seed production.
Representatives from Eithad, Zamindar, Ahmad, Tristar, Sinker, Zenta, AASI, Mumtaz, Rawal, Resham and Union Seed Corporations attended the session.

The Punjab Seed Council has approved multiplication of seven CCRI wheat varieties. CCRI Pirsabak will provide pre-basic seed to Punjab seed companies and their certified seed will be procured back by ADF, mega projects, and private seed companies in KP.

This initiative will help increase certified seed availability up to 20% and boost cooperation between Punjab and KP for improved wheat productivity. 🌱

A significant training session was organized by CIHEAM Bari as part of the OliveCulture Scale-Up project on 23 October 2025 at CCRI Pirsabak, bringing together experts and participants from various regions, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad. The session was led by renowned Italian experts in Agricultural Mechanization, including Prof. Alesandro Leone, Dr. Marcello Goletti, and Dr. Francesco De Musso. Dr. Amjad Ali, PRO Wheat, warmly welcomed the esteemed guests, while Dr. Nawaz from CCRI Pirsabak served as a valuable resource person, serving the event round the day. The event aimed to strengthen the olive sector by sharing knowledge and best practices. Such events showcase CCRI's commitment to collaborative efforts in the agricultural sector, highlighting its key role in hosting and facilitating initiatives that drive progress.
