Shuhada-e-APS University of Technology (UoT), Nowshera had the honor of welcoming Prof. Dr. Syed Zafar Ilyas, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Kohat University of Science & Technology (KUST), who visited the University on 4th August 2026.

The distinguished guest was warmly received by Prof. Dr. Saeed Badshah, Vice Chancellor, UoT Nowshera.

The visit served as an excellent platform for productive academic discussions, knowledge sharing, and exploring opportunities for future collaboration in higher education, research, innovation, and institutional development. Both universities reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening academic partnerships for the advancement of quality education and research in Pakistan.

The University of Technology Nowshera stands in solidarity with the people of Jammu & Kashmir on Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir, observed on 05 August 2026.

To mark the occasion, UoT Nowshera organized a one-minute silence, a Solidarity Walk, an address by the Honorable Vice Chancellor and concluded the observance with a special prayer for the people of Kashmir.

This day serves as a reminder of the importance of peace, justice, dignity, and the fundamental rights of all people. We pay tribute to those who have endured hardship and reaffirm our commitment to the universal values of humanity, compassion, and respect for human rights.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology successfully concluded Day 4 of the Free HVACR Level 6 Short Course at Shuhada-e-APS University of Technology, Nowshera.

The technical sessions were delivered by Engr. Haroon Akhtar, Lecturer, Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology, and Engr. Shadman Zaib Ul Hassan, MEP Engineer at FC Teaching Hospital. The sessions covered Refrigerants, Refrigerant Nomenclature, ASHRAE Refrigerant Nomenclature, and environmental considerations including Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP), Global Warming Potential (GWP), and sustainable refrigerant selection. Participants also learned about Green Skills, Green Campus initiatives, and Green HVACR practices, with emphasis on energy efficiency, environmental protection, and responsible refrigerant management in accordance with modern industry standards.

At the conclusion of the course, certificates were distributed among the participants by Dr. Waseem Akram, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology, Engr. Haroon Akhtar, Lecturer, Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology, and Mr. Yasir Khan, Lab Technologist, Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology.

Certificates were also awarded to the participants who successfully completed the one week AutoCAD Short Course conducted from 29 June to 3 July 2026.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology remains committed to promoting technical excellence through free skill development initiatives that equip students and professionals with practical knowledge, industry relevant skills, and enhanced career opportunities.

𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐛𝐲 𝐍𝐀𝐘𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐋 𝐚𝐭 𝐔𝐨𝐓 𝐍𝐨𝐰𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐚

The Career Development Centre (CDC), in collaboration with ORIC, University of Technology (UoT), Nowshera, successfully conducted a Recruitment Drive by NAYATEL today, providing our students with an excellent opportunity to connect with one of Pakistan's leading ICT and fiber-optic service providers.

The recruitment activity included interview sessions for the Supervisory Industrial Training (SIT) Program as well as potential employment opportunities. Students from the following departments actively participated:

𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: 𝐃𝐚𝐲𝐬 2 𝐚𝐧𝐝 3, 𝐇𝐕𝐀𝐂𝐑 𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥 6 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞

The Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology successfully conducted Days 2 and 3 of the Free HVACR Level 6 Short Course in the Smart Classroom at Shuhada-e-APS University of Technology, Nowshera.

The technical sessions were delivered by Engr. Haroon Akhtar, Faculty Member, Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology, and Engr. Shadman Zaib Ul Hassan, MEP Engineer at FC Teaching Hospital. During these sessions, participants gained a comprehensive understanding of the V***r Compression Refrigeration Cycle and its applications in modern HVACR systems. The training also covered Commercial HVAC Systems, including Water Cooled Chiller Systems and Air Cooled Chiller Systems, with emphasis on their operating principles, applications, components, and maintenance requirements.

Participants were further introduced to Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) Systems, Packaged Units, Air Handling Units (AHUs), and Fan Coil Units (FCUs). The sessions highlighted system selection, installation practices, operation and maintenance procedures, and the role of Building Management Systems (BMS) in improving energy efficiency, system monitoring, and building automation.

The participants actively engaged in discussions throughout the training and demonstrated great enthusiasm for developing practical HVACR knowledge and industry relevant skills. The University continues to promote technical excellence and workforce readiness by offering free skill development opportunities that enhance practical competencies and prepare participants for successful careers in the HVACR industry.
