The orientation and cake cutting ceremony of the IEEE Student Branch at MNS University of Engineering and Technology (MNS UET), Multan was successfully conducted on 20th May, 2026 with great enthusiasm and participation from students and faculty members.
A distinguished delegation from the IEEE Sub-Section team of The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) visited MNS UET, Multan to support and encourage the newly formed IEEE branch at the campus. During the session, the visiting team delivered an informative orientation highlighting the significance, benefits, and professional opportunities offered through IEEE membership and student branch activities.
The speakers guided students regarding the role of IEEE in enhancing technical knowledge, professional networking, research exposure, leadership development, and international collaboration opportunities for engineering students.
The event concluded with a cake cutting ceremony, marking the beginning of a new journey for the IEEE Student Branch at MNS UET, Multan. The university administration appreciated the efforts of the IEEE teams and expressed hope for active technical and professional engagement of students through IEEE platforms in the future.

Board of Faculty Meeting Held at MNSUET to Approve New Academic Programs and Curriculum Revisions
A meeting of the Board of Faculty was held today at Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Engineering and Technology Multan under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor . The meeting was attended by university faculty members as well as distinguished external members from academia and industry.
During the meeting, several important academic initiatives were discussed and approved in line with the vision of the Vice Chancellor to modernize and expand academic opportunities at the university.
A major development included the proposal to rename the Department of Management Sciences as the Multan School of Business and Entrepreneur, aimed at promoting innovation, leadership, and entrepreneurial culture among students. The Board also approved the launch of four new BS degree programs along with MS and PhD programs under the department to strengthen higher education and research opportunities.
Furthermore, the Board approved the initiation of the MS Computer Science program and a new BS Data Science program in the Department of Computer Science, reflecting the university’s commitment to advancing education in emerging technological and data-driven fields.
In addition to new program approvals, revised curricula for various departments were also reviewed and approved to align academic programs with modern industry requirements, international standards, and contemporary educational needs.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Touseef Aized emphasized that these initiatives are part of the university’s broader vision to transform MNSUET into a modern center of academic excellence, innovation, and research. He highlighted the importance of introducing market-oriented programs that equip students with practical knowledge and professional competencies required in today’s competitive world.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to further enhance the quality of education and create new opportunities for students at MNSUET.

The three-day National Curriculum Review Committee (NCRC) meeting, organized by the National Technology Council (NTC) and hosted by NUTECH, was convened for the development and review of the Level-6 Bachelor of Electrical Engineering Technology program in Pakistan. The committee emphasized alignment with industry requirements, international standards, and competency-based education frameworks to further strengthen technical education in the country.
Dr. Rooha Masroor, Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering & Technology, MNS University of Engineering & Technology, Multan, was nominated as a committee member and made valuable contributions to the curriculum development process.
On the concluding day, appreciation was expressed for the fruitful deliberations, and a souvenir was presented to her in recognition of her valuable contributions.

To ensure continuous improvement in postgraduate education and strengthen the academic and research environment, the Post Graduate Program Review (PGPR) was conducted on 28–29 April, 2026 at Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Engineering and Technology Multan by the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) in accordance with the guidelines of the Higher Education Commission. The review was carried out to evaluate the MSc and PhD programs offered by the university for the academic session 2025–2026 through a comprehensive peer-review process involving both external and internal experts.
The review team comprised the following members:
• Prof. Dr. Muhammad Hammad Nadeem Tahir (External), Dean Faculty of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, MNSUA, Multan
• Prof. Dr. Asim Umer (Internal), Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering & Technology, MNS-UET, Multan
• Dr. Ayyaz Ahmad (Internal), Associate Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering & Technology, MNS-UET, Multan
• Dr. Rooha Masroor (Internal), Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering & Technology, MNS-UET, Multan
During the review visit, the team evaluated various academic and research components including curriculum effectiveness, teaching and learning practices, research quality, scholarly output, supervision standards, and overall program outcomes in compliance with HEC quality assurance parameters.
The review team appreciated the institution’s academic and research efforts and also provided constructive recommendations for the further enhancement of postgraduate programs and quality assurance practices.
