Istikhara is a personal practice in Islam that can be used to seek guidance from Allah when making a decision. It is typically performed by the individual who is seeking guidance, but some people may prefer to seek assistance from a knowledgeable individual, such as a religious scholar or imam.

To perform Istikhara, the individual should first make two raka'ah (units) of prayer. After the prayer, they should recite the following supplication:

O Allah, I seek Your guidance on the matter of [insert the decision you are seeking guidance on here]. If it is good for me in both this world and the next, then make it easy for me to achieve it and bless me in it. But if it is not good for me in either this world or the next, then turn me away from it and make that which is good for me easy for me to achieve, and guide me to it.

The individual should then go to sleep with the intention of seeking guidance from Allah. They may receive a dream or some other sign, such as a feeling or thought, that will help them make a decision. It is important to remember that Istikhara is not a guarantee of a specific outcome, but rather a way to seek Allah's guidance in making a decision.
