Ablution, or _wudu_, is a prerequisite for prayer in Islam that purifies both body and soul before standing before Allah. It involves washing specific parts of the body with water, which cleanses physical impurities and spiritually resets the heart and mind for focus and humility. Beyond prayer, wudu keeps a Muslim in a state of cleanliness and mindfulness throughout the day, reinforcing discipline, presence, and readiness for worship.
Safa and Marwa are two small hills in Masjid al-Haram, Makkah, between which pilgrims perform _Sa’i_ during Hajj and Umrah. This ritual commemorates Hz Hajar’s desperate search for water for her infant son Ismail, running between the hills until the Zamzam well miraculously appeared. Walking between Safa and Marwa symbolizes trust in Allah, perseverance, and a mother’s love, and it remains a key act of devotion connecting pilgrims to this profound moment in Islamic history.
