One of the most important soft skills pertaining to doctor patient relationship is Communciation skills.

Being unable to communicate properly is the root cause of many conflicts that arise between doctors and patients / attendants or among the doctors themselves in workplace based setting as well as in social life. Thus it is imperative to work on this very important soft skill to make working environment of doctors very comfortable. This would make patients experience of a hospital setting very pleasant as well. Doctors have to deal with hundreds of patients/ attendants in the very busy outdoor patient department/ indoor settings and the ability to manage their cool during the same is the key to a peaceful mind. Importance of Communciation skills can not be emphasised enough. To enhance and improve the ability to communicate effectively with patients and in social life, special workshops are conducted by universities for their post graduate resident trainees.

One such workshop is being conducted at Nishter Medical University Multan by the Department of Medical education NMU. The session is moderated by Prof Dr Rashad Qamar Rao who is Professor and head of department of Ophthalmology NMU and Principal Nishtar medical college in addition to being medical educationist and Director Department of medical education NMU. A total of 44 post graduate trainees of various specialities from Nishtar hospital , children hospital multan, DG khan, bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan participated in this workshop and enhanced their skills in Communciation.

First day of Workshop on Communciation skills for MD/ MS post graduate trainees held today at Department of Medical Education, Nishtar Medical University, Multan. The session was moderated by Principal and Director DME NMU. It was attended by 44 post graduate trainees with interactive sessions and role plays.

Workshop on Skills in information Technology for UHS MD/ MS trainees organised by Prof. Rashad Qamar Rao, Principal, Nishtar Medical university and Focal person of UHS for workshops. Dr. Kaleem Ullah and Dr Aatir conducted as a facilitator for 44 participants.

An online introductory session to new first year by senior students about college life, hostel life, punctuality, Research , Ethics, time management, stress management and balance between curricular and co- curricular activities.
