*Supercritical Fluid* and *Liquid Crystal*
# # # *1. Supercritical Fluid*
A state of matter where a substance is *above its critical temperature and pressure*.
It has properties *between a liquid and a gas* — it can flow like gas but dissolve like liquid.
*Examples:*
- *Supercritical CO₂* → Decaffeinating coffee, dry cleaning clothes instead of chemicals
- *Supercritical water* → Waste treatment
- *Supercritical propane* → Oil extraction
# # # *2. Liquid Crystal*
A state that is *between liquid and solid crystal*.
Molecules flow like a liquid but are still ordered like in a crystal.
*Key properties:*
- Fluidity of liquids + order of solids
- Changes color/structure with temperature/electric field
*Examples:*
- *LCD screens* → TVs, mobiles, calculators
- *Thermometers* → Strips that change color with body temp
- *Mood rings* → Change color with skin temperature
