English Access MUST

“Youth for community well-being" and Inclusion” is an initiative under the English Access Scholarship Program designed to advance youth leadership, civic responsibility, and experiential learning. As part of this project, Access students from Group 2 and Group 5 accompanied by their Language Instructors Ms. Haleema Sadia, Mr. Sohail Razzaq, and Teaching Assistant Ms. Umm-e-Ruman, conducted an educational visit to the pediatric ward of a DHQ hospital Mirpur AJ&K. During this engagement, students interacted with medical professionals, caregivers, and patients’ families to disseminate evidence-based information on child nutrition, balanced diets, and healthy feeding practices. This activity enhanced students’ content knowledge, communication skills, and service-learning competencies, aligning with Access program goals.

Students also visited the AKAB Blind School, where they engaged with visually impaired learners through collaborative and interactive activities. This visit strengthened students’ understanding of inclusive practices, disability awareness, empathy-building, and accessible communication strategies.

Through these structured community engagement tasks, Access scholars demonstrated improved 21st-century skills, including civic engagement, cross-cultural communication, leadership, and social awareness. The project enabled students to apply classroom learning in real-world contexts while promoting the values of inclusion, well-being, and community support—core priorities of the Access Program and RELO initiatives.

Access Scholarship Program students from Group 4 recently completed a dual-purpose environmental initiative, "Green Hands, Bright Future." The project combined a plantation drive with a creative plastic recycling workshop to promote sustainability.

Students planted a variety of saplings in their community, actively raising awareness about the importance of greenery for the environment and well-being. Alongside this, they collected plastic waste and transformed it into practical items, such as bird water dispensers, decorative flower vases, and labeled recycling bins.

This hands-on project successfully engaged peers, reduced plastic waste, and contributed to local greening efforts. It demonstrated how small, creative actions can foster environmental responsibility and inspire lasting change.

Group 3 under supervision of instructor Ms Zeeb-un-Nisa launched a dual-impact project by promoting recycling and healthy hygiene habits among students. Through interactive workshops, poster presentations, and student's projects , they encouraged responsible actions for the community by recycling paper, plastic, and glass waste, while guidelines for daily healthy hygiene routines improved awareness for hygiene practices.The project encouraged recycling, and developed environmental awareness among students by inspiring them to adopt eco-friendly practices for a greener tomorrow.

The English Access Scholarship Program Closing Ceremony at MUST was a proud moment as we witnessed our students graduate after 18 months of commitment, hard work, and learning. From hesitant speakers to confident voices—this journey has been truly inspiring.

✍️✨ Creative Writing Session at MUST ✨✍️

English Access students at MUST had an inspiring creative writing session with Dr. Muhammad Sheeraz, Associate Professor, Department of English, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI). The session focused on helping students express their ideas vividly and creatively through writing.

Dr. Sheeraz guided students through a series of interactive exercises using real-life situations and visual prompts to spark imagination and develop descriptive writing skills. Students enthusiastically shared their work, discussed writing techniques, and received valuable feedback on how to refine their craft.

It was a lively and thought-provoking experience that encouraged students to see writing as a joyful and powerful form of self-expression.

Our Access students had an AMAZING session with the Rescue 1122 team! 🚑🌟 The training was not only engaging but also life-saving as students got hands-on exposure to emergency response techniques, first aid practices, and safety protocols. 💡 The team shared their real-life experiences, demonstrated practical steps, and guided students on how to act quickly and responsibly in critical situations. This session boosted our students’ confidence and equipped them with skills that can make a real difference in their communities. 🙌 We’re truly grateful to the Rescue 1122 team for their time, expertise, and tireless service to humanity!
