Steam Club Demonstration
Abida, an 8th-grade student, taught the 7th-grade class about atomic structure. She began with an introduction and then illustrated the structure of a Carbon atom on the board. She drew the nucleus and placed protons and neutrons inside it. She explained the electron shells as K, L, M, and how electrons are arranged in them. When she placed 4 electrons in the valence shell of Carbon, a student, Memona, asked why the L shell had only 4 electrons instead of 8. Abida clarified that Carbon has an atomic number of 6, so after filling the K shell with 2 electrons, only 4 remain for the L shell. Later, Abida divided the class into two groups and organized a competition to draw the structures of Magnesium, Silicon, and Oxygen. The activity not only reinforced the concept of atomic structure but also encouraged engagement, teamwork, and healthy competition, with Team A winning the challenge.

GGHS.APWA is ready for Mirpurkhas District Round Competition held at SMBB on 12 February 2026 .

Under the supervision of Ms Sana Aijaz, Barirah from grade 7 taught class 6 students about solution and suspension. First, she brainstormed the students by asking questions about mixtures. Then, with the help of diagrams, she explained and defined solution and suspension. After that, she called a few students to perform the solution activity by adding sugar in water. Then another group of students performed the suspension activity by adding sand in water. This student-to-student learning activity was very effective and interesting.
