Alamgiri Gate was built in 1673 by Mughal Emporer Aurangzeb as one of the 13 gates to the Lahore Fort.

Ambassador Fund for Cultural Preservation ( ) project helped restoration of the gate. The grant also funded full documentation of the gate’s design.
