وفاقی وزیرِ صحت مصطفیٰ کمال نے خبردار کیا ہے کہ پاکستان میں آبادی تیزی سے بڑھ رہی ہے اور اگر یہی رجحان برقرار رہا تو 2030ء تک ملک آبادی کے لحاظ سے دنیا کا چوتھا بڑا ملک بن سکتا ہے۔ ان کے مطابق 2050ء تک پاکستان کی آبادی 40 کروڑ تک پہنچنے کا امکان ہے، ہر سال نیوزی لینڈ جتنی آبادی پاکستان میں پیدا ہو رہی ہے۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ ملک کو ہر سال ہزاروں نئے اسکولوں، صحت مراکز، گھروں اور لاکھوں روزگار کے مواقع کی ضرورت ہے، جبکہ لاکھوں بچے اب بھی تعلیم سے محروم ہیں۔ مصطفیٰ کمال نے زور دیا کہ بڑھتی آبادی پاکستان کے لیے سب سے بڑا چیلنج بن چکی ہے، جس پر فوری اور مؤثر توجہ دینا ناگزیر ہے۔
