Vice Chancellor UL University of Layyah Attends PHEC Vice Chancellors' Conference at University of Agriculture Faisalabad - Official (UAF)
The Vice Chancellor UL, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zubair Abu Bakar, participated in the prestigious Vice Chancellors’ Conference organized by the Punjab Higher Education Commission-PHEC hosted by Vice Chancellor UAF Prof. Dr. Zulfiqar Ali.
The event, held under the title “Exposure to Global Best Practices in Higher Education (EGBP-HE)”, brought together university leadership from across the province alongside international experts to discuss academic governance, global research collaborations, and institutional transformation.

Driving Socio-Economic Growth: PHEC Chairperson Prof. Dr. Iqrar A. Khan emphasized transforming higher education institutions into centers of innovation, entrepreneurship, and community engagement to address national economic needs.
Focus on Rural Uplift: International speakers, including experts from Washington State University (WSU), highlighted the importance of embedding entrepreneurship across disciplines and shifting from traditional metrics (paper counts) to impact-based measures that support rural livelihoods and low-capital business models.
Global & Industry Linkages: Keynotes stressed the necessity of university-industry collaboration, joint degree programs, and global partnerships to elevate local academic standards.
Institutional Impact: The participation of our Vice Chancellor underscores the University of Layyah’s commitment to adopting globally recognized academic standards. The insights from this conference reinforce the university's strategic focus on translating research into practical solutions for regional development, innovation, and community uplift.

🏛️ Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zubair Abu Bakar Inspects UL University of Layyah
A major step toward academic excellence and student welfare! Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zubair Abu Bakar, Vice Chancellor of the University of Layyah, conducted an extensive visit to various university blocks, departments, administrative offices, and the examination center to review the overall academic and administrative environment.
🚫 Zero Tolerance for Cheating & Focus on Student Comfort:
During his detailed inspection of the Examination Center, the Vice Chancellor placed special emphasis on maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and student well-being.
Fair & Transparent Exams: He issued strict directives to make the examination system and result secrecy foolproof, ensuring a completely transparent, cheating-free environment.
Student Welfare First: Demonstrating a student-centric approach, Dr. Abu Bakar personally interacted with the students to ensure they had access to proper ventilation and cold drinking water during the hot weather.
📈 Enhancing Administrative & Academic Standards:
The Vice Chancellor met with department heads and administrative officers to address ongoing challenges and find immediate solutions. He reiterated his commitment to elevating the University of Layyah into a modern, model institution by upgrading educational standards and campus facilities.
Special instructions were also given to the Examination Department to speed up the issuance of degrees and results, resolving student grievances on a priority basis.
🏗️ Infrastructure Upgrade:
To conclude his visit, the VC reviewed the ongoing maintenance, repair, and infrastructure development across the campus. He directed the relevant authorities to expedite the construction work to ensure a beautiful, comfortable, and welcoming environment for everyone on campus.
