FAST-NUCES Lahore Campus is hosting an insightful tech talk titled “Safe Roads Through Visual Intelligence: How Computer Vision Powers Fleet Safety at Motive” by Dr. Ijaz Akhter on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at 11:30 AM in the Old Auditorium.

Dr. Ijaz, a LUMS PhD with research experience at the Max-Planck Institute and the Australian National University, now leads key safety innovations at Motive—including real-time driver distraction detection systems.

The talk will explore how Motive’s AI division—Pakistan’s largest—leverages ML, CV, DL, GenAI, and massive real-world datasets to build advanced driver-safety features such as distraction, drowsiness, close-following, lane-swerving, and violation detection.

The session also aims to connect with talented students interested in future opportunities at Motive.

The 3rd International AI Championship 2025 was successfully held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at LUMS, Lahore. The prestigious event was organized by Soliton, with FAST NUCES proudly serving as one of the partner institutions.

We are delighted to share that four esteemed faculty members from the FAST School of Computing — Dr. Kashif Zafar, Dr. Aamir Wali, Dr. Zareen Alamgir, and Mr. Junaid Hussain — were invited to participate as Judges, contributing their expertise to evaluate innovative AI solutions presented by participants from around the world.

The event provided a dynamic platform for showcasing cutting-edge research, fostering collaboration, and celebrating advancements in Artificial Intelligence.

🎓 The Government of Punjab invites applications for the Chief Minister’s Honhaar Undergraduate Scholarship Program 2025, a merit-based initiative designed to support outstanding students with limited financial resources. The program enables deserving individuals to pursue undergraduate degrees at leading universities and colleges across Punjab by covering full tuition fees for 4 to 5 years.

Selection will be based on 30% weightage to Matric marks and 70% to Intermediate marks. The application deadline has been extended to October 26, 2025, to accommodate flood-affected students.
