🇮🇹 *Italy Student Visa Checklist 2026/27 – Islamabad Embassy*

*1️⃣ Domicile Certificate*
Domicile is now compulsory for all visa applicants, even if you are not applying for DOV. Make sure to include it with your visa documents.

*2️⃣ Pre-Enrollment Summary*
Your pre-enrollment summary should not contain any reservation, condition, or pending requirement.

* If a condition is mentioned, it usually means DOV or CIMEA has not been completed.
* Send your apostilled educational documents to the university and request them to remove the condition.
* Explain that you will submit DOV during enrollment if required.
* If the university refuses, you may need to obtain CIMEA.

If there is no condition mentioned, you are good to go.

*3️⃣ Cover Letter*
A motivation letter or cover letter must be included with your visa application.

*4️⃣ Educational Documents*
All academic documents must be:

* Apostilled
* Officially translated

*5️⃣ English Language Proof*
The embassy now requires an internationally recognized English certificate such as:

* IELTS
* TOEFL
* Other accepted international English tests

*Note:* Medium of Instruction (MOI) certificates are no longer accepted by the Islamabad Embassy.

The only exception is an English test certificate issued directly by an Italian university.

*6️⃣ Financial Documents*
A minimum amount of *€10,180* should be available in the student's personal bank account.

Sponsors can be close relatives up to the 4th degree, including:

* Parents
* Brothers/Sisters
* Uncle (Chachu/Mamu)
* Grandparents
* Aunts
* Other eligible family members

You must also provide an *FRC (Family Registration Certificate)* to prove the relationship with the sponsor.

*7️⃣ Tax Returns*
Tax returns for the last *three years* are required from the applicant or sponsor.

*8️⃣ Chamber of Commerce Certificate*
If business documents are being used as proof of income, a valid Chamber of Commerce registration certificate must be submitted.

*9️⃣ Sponsor Affidavit*
The sponsor affidavit must be:

* Apostilled
* Officially translated

*🔟 Family Registration Certificate (FRC)*
All FRCs must be:

* Issued within the last 6 months
* Apostilled
* Officially translated

For Italian university pre enrollment on Universitaly, document requirements depend on the university. Here is the correct guidance:

Upload all academic documents:
Degree(Matric, Intermediate, Bachelors)
Transcript
Passport
CV
English Proficiency certificate(MOI, IELTS, PTE etc.)
Motivation letter(If you don't have Acceptance Letter)
Recommendation letters (LORs) if available
If you already have:
Apostille documents → upload apostilled versions
CIMEA → strongly preferred, upload it
If you do NOT yet have Apostille/CIMEA/legalization:
Many universities still allow pre enrollment without them initially.
You can often provide them later during visa.

Important university-specific cases:

University of Trieste / University of Sassari:
Must require legalized documents during pre enrollment.
Sapienza University of Rome / University of Milan / Tor Vergata:
Must upload CIMEA during pre enrollment.

📢 Relationship Degree Made Easy (For Italy Study Visa)

Many students get confused about who can sponsor them. Here’s a very simple breakdown 👇

🔹 1st Degree (Closest Family)
Your parents and your children

🔹 2nd Degree
Your grandparents, siblings (brother/sister), and grandchildren

🔹 3rd Degree
Your uncle, aunt (Chachu, Mamu, Phupo, Khala), nieces, nephews, great-grandparents

🔹 4th Degree (Allowed for Sponsorship)
Your cousins, great uncles/aunts, and extended relatives one level further

✅ Important for Italy Visa:
You can use financial support from relatives up to 4th degree

📄 But you must show:

Proof of relationship (FRC, Birth Certificate, etc.)

Sponsor’s financial documents

💡 In simple words:
From your parents → to grandparents → to uncles/aunts → to cousins
(All these can support you up to 4th level)

Study Visa Requirements for Italy (Academic Years 2026–2027 & 2027–2028)

1. Financial Proof:
Applicants are required to show sufficient financial resources amounting to at least €10,179.85 per year to cover their living expenses in Italy.

2. Acceptable Funding Sources:

Funds held in the student’s personal bank account are generally preferred.
Financial support can also be provided by family members.

3. Sponsorship by Relatives:
Students may rely on financial sponsorship from relatives up to the fourth degree (such as parents, siblings, uncles, etc.). In such cases, official documents verifying both the relationship and the sponsor’s financial capacity must be submitted.
