Some kind faces who didn’t just saw Pehla Qadam (پہلا قدم) as a cause - they felt it, and stepped into it with open hearts. 💛

Few days ago, they joined us - not just as volunteers, but as companions in purpose.
They came with kindness, energy, and belief in what we’re trying to build - ready to give their time, their care, and their hearts.

In the photo, the little ones smile in front - and behind them stand those who chose to care, quietly but tall in spirit.

Today, when rain left the ground muddy and uneven, our little students didn’t wait for anyone - they picked up the whiteboard, cleaned the place, and made space for learning themselves.

It’s more than just a class now — it’s their classroom, their effort, their step forward.
Because when the will to learn is this strong, not even rain can stop it. 🌱

This Teacher’s Day, we spent it with those
who might’ve only heard the word “teacher” from others -
maybe from another child, another story.

For them, “teacher” was something distant, unfamiliar, almost unreal.

We chose to be that missing picture
to be their teacher, their friend,
and maybe, the start of what learning can feel like.

This is what our classroom looks like these days - a small chitaaai(چٹائی) spread on the ground, a whiteboard hanging on a tree, and children learning right in the heart of their community.

Sometimes the sunlight hits too strong, sometimes the wind blows our pages away - but still, the learning never stops. ✏️

These are moments that remind us: education doesn’t always need walls - it just needs people who care.

Pehla Qadam (پہلا قدم) continues to grow, one small step at a time. 🌱

Here our very first class began - not inside walls, but under the open sky, where the sun shines equally on everyone.

Children who had never seen a classroom before sat down to begin their journey. Their parents quietly gathered around, watching with glowing eyes and soft smiles. It was clear - this was a moment they, too, had been waiting for.

As the sun beat down, one mother tied a cloth across a wire to shield the children from the heat. Such a simple gesture - yet it turned that open space into a classroom. 🤩☺️

It wasn’t much, but it was a beginning. A first step. And in that moment, it felt like all of us - children, parents, us - were building this classroom together. ✨

پہلا قدم is more than just a teaching. It’s hope. It’s togetherness. It’s a promise that no child should be left without learning. 🌸

✨ We promised a class to children who had never seen one before.
And now, that promise is beginning to take shape.

In Lahore’s Urdu Bazar, from our own collective pockets, we gathered what we could - a whiteboard to dream on, notebooks for fresh starts, pencils and colors to fill imaginations with light, and to write names that had never been written before. ✨📚

This is Pehla Qadam happening here and now - a promise turning into reality, one step at a time. 💙
