بچوں کو تنقیدی فکر سکھائیں!
خوش قسمتی یہ ہے کہ ہم اُس دور میں جی رہے ہیں جہاں معلومات (information) بہت زیادہ ہیں اور المیہ بھی یہی ہے کہ معلومات بہت زیادہ ہیں.
پہلے ہمارے پاس گوگل (Google) ہوتا تھا جہاں ہم کوئی 8-10 ویب سائٹس وِزٹ کرنے کے بعد کسی نتیجے پر پہنچتے تھے۔ پھر یوٹیوب، فیس بُک، ٹوِیٹر وغیرہ آئے جو لمحہ بہ لمحہ ہمیں اَپ ڈیٹ کرنے لگے۔

سال 2022 کے آخر میں جنم لینی والی ChatGPT نے تو گویا معلومات کو گوگل سے بھی تیز اور آسان کر دیا ہے۔

اب ہر طرف معلومات کا سیلاب ہی سیلاب ہے۔ ہر موضوع پہ معلومات ایک سِنگل کلِک پہ دستیاب (available) تو ہیں مگر اُن معلومات میں کون سی متعلقہ (relevant) ہیں اور کتنی مصدقہ (authentic) ہیں یہ بڑا مسئلہ بن چکا ہے۔

یہ سب جاننا کہ کون سی معلومات متعلقہ ہیں اور کتنی مصدقہ ہیں نہایت ضروری ہوگیا ہے۔ یہ سیکھنا بہت ضروری ہوگیا ہے خصوصاً ہماری نئی نسل کےلیے ۔ ۔ ۔

اِس کےلیے ہم والدین اور اساتذہ کو چاہیے کہ بچوں کو تنقیدی فکر (Critical Thinking) سکھائیں تاکہ وہ ملنے والی معلومات کو آنکھیں بند کرکے تسلیم کرنے اور آگے پھیلانے والی عادت سے بچیں۔ وہ ملنے والی معلومات پہ سوچیں، سوال اُٹھائیں، تجزیہ کریں، مبنی بر دلائل بات پہ توجہ دیں اور کسی نتیجے پہ پہنچ کر کوئی فیصلہ کریں۔ اِس کا فائدہ یہ ہوگا کہ ہمارے بچے معلومات کے قابو (control) میں آنے کی بجائے معلومات کو قابو کر سکیں گے۔ کوئی اُنہیں استعمال نہیں کر سکے گا، وَرغلا نہیں سکے گا۔

اُمید ہے کہ ہماری یہ چھوٹی چھوٹی کاوشیں بچوں کی زندگی میں بہت بڑا بدلاؤ (change) لےکر آئیں گی۔ ان شاءاللہ 🤗
