Lahore ( ) The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore has entered into an agreement with Energy Conscious Engineering (ECE) (Pvt.) Ltd. for the installation of a 400 kW Solar Power System at its New Campus, Kala Shah Kaku (KSK).

Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir, TI, said that the project reflects the University's strong commitment to promoting renewable energy, developing environmentally sustainable infrastructure, and ensuring the efficient utilization of resources.

He stated that the initiative would encourage the use of clean solar energy while significantly reducing electricity expenses. The solar power system is expected to generate substantial financial savings for the University in the coming years and further enhance the campus's green energy capacity.

The agreement documents were formally signed by Mr. Abid Shahzad Aslam, Treasurer UET Lahore and the Chief Executive Officer of Energy Conscious Engineering (Pvt.) Ltd.

The Vice Chancellor further noted that the University is actively implementing a number of important projects aimed at energy efficiency, cost-effective infrastructure development, and the provision of student-friendly facilities. He also appreciated the efforts of the committees, technical experts, and other stakeholders who contributed to the tendering, technical evaluation, assessment, and planning processes of the project.

The project marks another significant milestone in UET Lahore’s journey towards a greener, smarter, and more sustainable future.

لاہور () یونیورسٹی آف انجینئرنگ اینڈ ٹیکنالوجی (یو ای ٹی) لاہور نے اپنے نیو کیمپس کالا شاہ کاکو میں 400 کلوواٹ سولر پاور سسٹم کی تنصیب کیلئے انرجی کانشیئس انجینئرنگ پرائیویٹ لمیٹڈ کمپنی کیساتھ معاہدہ طے کر لیا ہے۔ اس موقع پر وائس چانسلر ڈاکٹر شاہد منیر کا کہنا تھا کہ یہ منصوبہ قابلِ تجدید توانائی کے فروغ، ماحول دوست انفراسٹرکچر کی ترقی اور وسائل کے مؤثر استعمال کے حوالے سے یونیورسٹی کے عزم کا مظہر ہے۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ اس منصوبے کے تحت شمسی توانائی کے استعمال کو فروغ ملے گا جبکہ بجلی کے اخراجات میں نمایاں کمی آئے گی۔ سولر پاور سسٹم کی تنصیب سے یونیورسٹی کو آئندہ برسوں میں خاطر خواہ مالی بچت حاصل ہوگی اور کیمپس کی گرین انرجی صلاحیت میں بھی اضافہ ہوگا۔

معاہدے کی دستاویزات پر ٹریژرر یو ای ٹی عابد شہزاد اسلم اور سی ای او انرجی کانشیئس انجینئرنگ نے دستخط کیے۔ وائس چانسلر نے مزید کہا کہ یونیورسٹی میں توانائی کے مؤثر استعمال، کم لاگت انفراسٹرکچر اور طلبہ دوست سہولیات کی فراہمی کیلئے متعدد اہم منصوبے کامیابی سے مکمل کیے جا رہے ہیں۔ اس سلسلے میں منصوبوں کی ٹینڈرنگ، تکنیکی جانچ پڑتال، تشخیص اور منصوبہ بندی کے مراحل میں خدمات انجام دینے والی کمیٹیوں، ماہرین اور دیگر متعلقہ فریقین کی کاوشوں کو بھی سراہا گیا۔

UET Lahore Conducts Graduate Program Review and Program Self-Assessment based on PREE Standard for 2025–26: The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore, through its Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), commenced the Graduate Program Review (GPR) 2025–26 on June 23, 2026, in accordance with the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) guidelines and the PREE Standards 2025–26. The review, approved by the Vice Chancellor and undertaken following the recommendations of the Institutional Quality Cell (IQC), will continue on June 24, 2026.

The review encompasses 109 PhD, MS, M.Phil., and equivalent postgraduate programs offered across UET Lahore Main Campus, Faisalabad Campus, Kala Shah Kaku Campus, Rachna College of Engineering and Technology (RCET), and Narowal Campus. Academic departments presented their Self-Assessment Reports (SARs) and supporting evidence before designated Program Assessment Teams.

The assessment is being conducted by a distinguished review panel comprising Director QECs of five public and private universities Prof. Dr. Muhammad Shafiq, Asif Saeed Haider, Prof. Dr. Hamid Mukhtar, Dr. Rizwan Shad, Mr. Awais Abdul Wahid from PU, GCU, UMT, UCP and KCWU and Internal reviewers, namely, Prof. Dr. Amer Aziz, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Khurram Zahoor, Prof. Dr. Farhan Mahmood, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Asim, Dr. Muhammad Irfan Jalees Dr. Muhammad Wasim Tahir, Dr. Abdul Aziz Niazi, Dr. Usman Ilyas, Dr. Umer Mehmood, Dr. Muhammad Waseem, and Dr. Mureed Abbas, who are evaluating program compliance with the PREE Standards and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

Following the review proceedings, the panel held a meeting with the Vice Chancellor, UET Lahore, and shared its observations and preliminary findings. The reviewers appreciated the Vice Chancellor’s commitment to academic quality, the active participation of departments, and the effective coordination of the Quality Enhancement Cell in conducting this large-scale quality assurance exercise.
The Vice Chancellor commended the efforts of the QEC team for successfully organizing and managing the review process and reaffirmed UET Lahore’s commitment to academic excellence, research quality, and continuous improvement. On the occasion, commemorative shields were presented to the members of the review panel in recognition of their valuable services and contributions towards strengthening the University’s quality assurance culture.

The Vice Chancellor emphasized the importance of strategic planning and effective utilization of international support to strengthen the University's academic and research capabilities.
