Dr. Zaheer Ahmad, Professor and Head of the Department of Information Management (DoIM), and Director, Center for Academic Integrity at The University of Lahore, conducted a training session on "Synthesizing Evidence for Policy Research" for researchers at the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI), Islamabad.

During the workshop, Dr. Zaheer highlighted the importance of evidence synthesis in producing credible and policy-relevant research. He introduced systematic approaches to identifying, evaluating, and synthesizing scholarly literature, while demonstrating the responsible use of AI tools to support literature reviews and evidence-based policymaking.

The session concluded with practical activities on effective literature searching, reference management, and integrating evidence into policy narratives. Participants gained valuable insights into strengthening the quality, transparency, and impact of policy research through ethical and responsible research practices. The session was coordinated by Ms. Romila Shahid and Mr. Ali Aamer Javed, who represented the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI), Islamabad.

Dr. Zaheer Ahmad, Professor and Head of the Department of Information Management (DoIM), The University of Lahore, conducted a comprehensive workshop titled "Mastering Turnitin for Plagiarism Detection and Prevention" at COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus. During the workshop, Dr. Ahmad highlighted the importance of maintaining originality and ethical standards in academic writing and research. He provided an in-depth overview of plagiarism, its various forms, and the consequences of academic misconduct in higher education. Participants were introduced to international best practices for promoting academic integrity and fostering a culture of responsible scholarship.

The interactive workshop concluded with an engaging question-and-answer session, during which participants discussed practical challenges related to plagiarism detection, publication ethics, similarity report interpretation, and the responsible integration of AI tools in academic research.

The Global Dialogue on Research 2026 was jointly organized by the Department of Information Management, The University of Lahore, and the Department of Library Information Services, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus. The dialogue was moderated by Ms. Rimsha Qayyum, who facilitated the proceedings, introduced the distinguished speakers, and coordinated participant engagement throughout the dialogue. The international event brought together renowned scholars and researchers from across the globe to discuss opportunities for strengthening international research collaboration, scholarly networking, and equitable knowledge exchange.

The programme commenced with ๐ƒ๐ซ. ๐Œ๐ฎ๐ก๐š๐ฆ๐ฆ๐š๐ ๐“๐š๐ซ๐ข๐ช, Head of Library Information Services at COMSATS University Lahore, introduces the objectives of the Global Dialogue and highlights the significance of international collaboration in advancing research and innovation.
๐๐ซ๐จ๐Ÿ. ๐ƒ๐ซ. ๐’๐ก๐š๐ซ๐ข๐ฒ๐š ๐‡๐จ๐ฌ๐ž๐ง๐ข, Head of Academics at COMSATS University Lahore, who delivered the welcome address, emphasized the importance of ethical scholarship, sustainability, and global academic partnerships.
The keynote session began with ๐Œ๐ฌ. ๐‘๐จ๐ฑ๐š๐ง๐ง๐ž ๐Œ๐ข๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ก๐š๐ฆ (๐€๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐š๐ฅ๐ข๐š), who explored global challenges and emerging opportunities in research support beyond geographical boundaries, highlighting the evolving role of libraries in international scholarship.
๐๐ซ๐จ๐Ÿ. ๐ƒ๐ซ. ๐€๐ง๐ฐ๐š๐ซ-๐ฎ๐ฅ ๐ˆ๐ฌ๐ฅ๐š๐ฆ (๐๐š๐ง๐ ๐ฅ๐š๐๐ž๐ฌ๐ก), Professor at the University of Dhaka, discussed how international research collaboration strengthens scholarly publications through his personal insights and experience. Representing Sri Lanka, ๐๐ซ๐จ๐Ÿ. ๐ƒ๐ซ. ๐‘๐ฎ๐ฐ๐š๐ง ๐†๐š๐ฆ๐š๐ ๐ž examined the role of professional associations in promoting cross-border research collaboration and fostering innovation through international networks.
๐Œ๐ฌ. ๐๐ฅ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐Œ๐š๐ฐ๐ข๐ซ๐ž (๐’๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ก ๐€๐Ÿ๐ซ๐ข๐œ๐š), Country Lead at Research4Life Country Connectors, discussed international collaboration opportunities, emphasizing inclusive participation and partnerships to empower underrepresented research communities.
From ๐Œ๐š๐ฅ๐š๐ฒ๐ฌ๐ข๐š ๐š๐ง๐ ๐‚๐ก๐ข๐ง๐š, ๐Œ๐ฌ. ๐™๐ก๐จ๐ฎ ๐‡๐จ๐ง๐ ๐ฅ๐ข, shared insights on co-constructing scholarly knowledge through international collaboration, with particular attention to health literacy and equitable access to information.
The final keynote was delivered by ๐ƒ๐ซ. ๐€๐ฅ๐ข๐œ๐ข๐š ๐“๐š๐ค๐š๐จ๐ค๐š (๐“๐ก๐ž ๐๐ž๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐ซ๐ฅ๐š๐ง๐๐ฌ), Postdoctoral Researcher at Erasmus University Rotterdam, who highlighted the importance of ethical AI, energy justice, and inclusive technology design in addressing global challenges through collaborative research.

The event concluded with closing remarks by Prof. Dr. Zaheer Ahmad, Head of the Department of Information Management, The University of Lahore, who thanked the distinguished speakers, participants, and organizing institutions for making the dialogue a successful platform for fostering meaningful international research collaboration.
