Pakistan’s Inflation Hits 9-Year Low at 2.4% in January
Pakistan’s inflation dropped to 2.4% YoY in January 2025, the lowest in over nine years, down from 4.1% in December 2024, per Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
The decline is driven by lower food inflation and a high base effect.
Average inflation for 7MFY25 stands at 6.5%, sharply down from 28.73% in 7MFY24. Urban inflation fell to 2.7%, rural to 1.9%.
The State Bank cut its key policy rate to 12%, marking six consecutive cuts since June 2024.
