The Department of Mathematics recently showcased its academic vigor at the 21st Conference on Recent Advances in Mathematical Methods, Models & Applications (RAMMMA 2026), held at the Lahore School of Economics from April 11–12, 2026.

Representing our faculty's commitment to advancing mathematical research, Dr. Rayees and Dr. Junaid contributed as presenters, sharing insights on the latest developments in the field. The department was further represented by Dr. Zain ul Abadin Zafar, Dr. Aslam Javed, Ms. Seema Mazhar, and Mr. Raja Mashhood, who actively participated in the two-day scholarly exchange.

Events like RAMMMA 2026 provide an essential platform for our faculty to engage with the broader scientific community and bring cutting-edge mathematical perspectives back to our students.

Dr. Muhammad Aslam Javed, Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the Faculty of Science and Technology (FOST), University of Central Punjab, was selected for a prestigious placement at System Heuristics under the Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC) Faculty Industry Placement Program (FIPP).
This 8-week placement, held from August 5 to September 25, 2025, enabled Dr. Javed to collaborate closely with System Heuristics, a leading AI and data science firm based in Lahore, Pakistan, specializing in machine learning, web development, and digital solutions.
Dr. Javed’s expertise in fuzzy similarity measures and fuzzy optimization aligned perfectly with the program’s goal of fostering academia-industry synergies. This opportunity highlighted FOST’s commitment to bridging theoretical knowledge with practical industry applications, providing valuable insights for teaching and research.

The Annual Summer Workshop Series 2025, organized by Dr. Zain-ul-Abadin Zafar (HOD, Mathematics) and arranged by Ms. Saba Naeem under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Hafiza Rizwana Kausar (Dean, FOST), concluded with its second and final day.

Day 2, themed "Mathematics in the World of Data Science & Beauty Beyond Numbers", featured engaging sessions on AI in Mathematics, Statistical Methods in Data Science, Essential Math for Data Science, Lesson Plan Sprint, and AI Ethics, alongside a workshop-long Math Bingo activity.

Speakers included Dr. Muhammad Aslam, Mr. Muhammad Rizwan (Guest Speaker), Ms. Saba Naeem, Mr. Adnan Rafiq, Ms. Amina Komal, and Ms. Seema Mazhar. The day ended with certificate distribution and a group photo, marking the successful close of the series.

Bridging Mathematical Disciplines: A Research Collaboration Workshop

The Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science & Technology, University of Central Punjab, successfully commenced Day 1 of the Annual Summer Workshop Series 2025.
The sessions covered diverse themes including Image Cryptography, Non-Uniform B-Splines, Viral Disease Transmission Modeling, Markov Chains in Epidemiology, and Molecular Predictions combining Mathematics, Chemistry, and AI. The Rapid Research Exchange activity fostered vibrant cross-disciplinary collaborations.
Day 1 featured insightful talks by Dr. Muhammad Tanveer, Dr. Shahid Saeed Siddiqi, Dr. Usama Ghafoor, Ms. Asfar Nisar, and Ms. Qurat-ul-Ain, who shared their expertise across multiple mathematical and applied domains.
This workshop was organized by Dr. Zain-ul-Abideen Zafar (HOD, Mathematics) and efficiently arranged by Ms. Saba Naeem. Special thanks to Dr. Muhammad Tanveer for joining as the Guest Keynote Speaker. The meeting was followed by a heartfelt farewell ceremony for three esteemed professors: Dr. Syed Karrar Haider, Dr. Shahid Saeed Siddiqi, and Dr. Zia ur Rehman. In a panel conversation moderated by Ms. Maryam Khalid and Ms. Saba Naeem, the professors reflected on their decades of service and institutional growth. Prof. Dr. Rizwana honored them with commemorative souvenirs in appreciation of their legacy. The day concluded with interactive games and a warm lunch gathering, celebrating their lasting contributions to UCP.

On July 31, 2025, Prof. Dr. Hafiza Rizwana Kausar chaired the 9th Faculty Meeting of the Faculty of Science and Technology (FOST), University of Central Punjab. The meeting highlighted the strategic achievements of the past year, covering academic excellence, research milestones, and collaborative growth, and outlined future initiatives and goals to further strengthen FOST’s academic and research impact.
