Industrial Guest Lecture Highlight – Introduction to Centrifugal Pumps and Pump Selection

• The Department of Mechanical Engineering, hosted an industrial guest lecture.
• The session was delivered by industry experts Engr Gohar Fareed Khan and Engr Hamza Ansari from KSB Pumps
• Designed for undergraduate students enrolled in Fluid Mechanics, Mechanical Vibrations and Engineering Dynamics
• Covered the fundamentals of centrifugal pumps, performance curves, efficiency and real-world industrial considerations
• Focused on practical pump selection criteria, including flow rate, head, energy efficiency and operating conditions
• Featured real industry case studies and an interactive Q&A session on cavitation, maintenance and system optimisation
