On 3rd May 2025, students of the Department of City and Regional Planning, together with our faculty Plnr. Amna and Plnr. Amjad had the opportunity to undertake a field visit to two of Gujranwala’s prominent modern housing schemes: Royal Palm City and Citi Housing. This Visit aims to provide students with practical exposure to contemporary urban development models.
The students explored the design concepts, land use distribution, infrastructure planning, road hierarchies, and community facilities implemented in both societies. They also interacted with on-site planners and developers to understand the planning principles behind these modern developments. This hands-on learning experience enabled students to critically analyze the challenges and innovations involved in the development of planned housing communities.

On April 23, 2025, we hosted Plnr. Ahsan Rehman from Engineering Consultancy Services Punjab (ECSP) for a guest lecture with the BS City and Regional Planning – Batch 9 students.
Plnr. Ahsan shared valuable insights on how tourism can be developed sustainably, preserving ecological balance while meeting economic and recreational needs. Drawing from his professional experiences, he highlighted how ecotourism master planning differs from conventional town planning by focusing on long-term environmental preservation.
We sincerely thank him for his time and expertise, making a meaningful contribution to the academic growth of our future planners.

On November 27, 2024, Our students from Batch 9 (3rd Year) and Batch 11 (1st Year) of BS CRP visited several ongoing construction projects in Gulberg, Lahore, focusing on corporate offices and skyscrapers.
The first site visited was the Al Fatah Tower, a 21-floor building. The construction is in progress, with the grey structure 60-70% complete. Secondly, the students visited the Sabroso Corporate Tower. Its grey structure was completed, and the project has moved to the finishing phase. The final site was Burjh One, the tallest skyscraper under construction to date, comprising 24 floors.
Throughout the visit, students gained valuable knowledge about large-scale construction processes, building bylaws set by relevant authorities, and the practical challenges of urban development. The experience offered a close-up view of how major projects are executed and managed, significantly enriching their understanding of the field.
