GOVERNMENT COLLEGE FOR WOMEN (1972) IS ONE OF THE PROMINENT ACADEMIC INSTITUTE WHO HAS BEEN SERVING FRO THE PAST 40 YEARS AND NOW ITS ESTABLISHED INSTITUTES WITH ITS OWN INDIVIDUALITY OF BEING AND ONLY PHYSICAL EDUCATION TILL 2007
IN 2007 IT GETS ITS STATUS UPDATED TO FULLFILL THE NEEDS OF GENERAL AS WEL AS PHYSICAL EDUCATION OF THE AREA SURROUNDING
THIS COLLEGE CATERS STUDENTS FRO ALL OVER PAKISTAN INCUDING AZAD KHSHMIR PUNJAB IN ITS VARIOUS DISCIPLINES.ITS HOSTEL ACCOMODATES THESE GIRLS. college library was renovated and expanded. College covers vast area of 22 acre which comprises sports field like hockey basketball athletic track and multiple purpose gymnasiums. Keeping in view the increasing No. of students it was decided to form a college council in 2012 comprising 6 class representative of responsible from each years
In 2015 MPhil in physical education started yet another milestone was achieved in 2015 i.e. this college provide admission in MPhil in physical education
Last but not least, college anthem will be launched in the annual sports gala 2016 on 23rd February 2016
