Some stories are about building something from scratch. Others are about carrying a legacy forward and making it even stronger. Touqeer Malik's, Class of 1998, story is the latter.

Long before Touqeer stepped into leadership, his father, Muhammad Bashir Malik, laid the foundation of a family business in 1989 , a small logistics venture built on trust and vision. Touqeer, alongside his brothers, took on the responsibility of carrying that legacy forward, navigating market shifts and industry challenges while staying true to their father's founding values of precision and excellence. Today, that vision has grown into Bin Qutub Industries, a leading Tier 1 supply chain group in Pakistan, with Touqeer now serving as its CEO , driving innovation, efficiency, and reliability across the logistics and freight forwarding sector.

But Touqeer's impact goes beyond business. True to his family's values, he has remained deeply committed to giving back , his contributions to community welfare were recognized with an appreciation award from the Governor of Punjab, honoring the family's work through the Bin Qutab Foundation, which runs a charity hospital dedicated to mother and child healthcare in Chakwal.

Touqeer's journey is a powerful reminder that true success isn't just measured in growth and numbers , it's measured in the legacy you build, the people you uplift, and the values you choose to carry forward.

Congratulations, Touqeer , your leadership and legacy continue to inspire us all!

Some journeys begin with a degree. The remarkable ones continue with curiosity, courage, and a commitment to keep evolving.

A proud member of the UCP Class of 1998, Shahzad Ishaq has built an inspiring career spanning more than two decades in the financial services industry. From his early career at Citibank, to leading Consumer Finance at Bank Alfalah, and eventually taking on senior leadership in digital banking at MCB Bank, his journey reflects what happens when knowledge is continuously transformed into impact.

His professional journey has crossed multiple markets and banking segments, with leadership experience in consumer finance, cards, payments, sales, digital transformation, and retail banking. At MCB, he has been associated with the bank's digital transformation journey and currently serves as Group Head Digital Banking & Chief Digital Officer.

But perhaps the most inspiring part of his story is this:

The classroom was only the beginning.

From the corridors of UCP to the leadership tables of Pakistan's banking industry, Shahzad Ishaq's journey reminds our students and alumni that success isn't defined by where you start , it's defined by how far you continue to grow.

A proud UCPian. A visionary banking professional. An inspiring alumni story.

Once a UCPian, always a UCPian.

Some leaders don't just climb the ladder , they build new ones for others to follow. That's the story of Umer Ghumman, Class of 1997.

Umer's journey began like every UCP graduate's does , with ambition and the drive to make an impact. His career took shape in business development and account management, including an international assignment coordinating markets across Egypt, Turkey, and Pakistan. But it was his move into the tech and mobile industry that would define his rise. Joining Samsung Mobile in 2016, Umer steadily grew through the ranks , from heading the mobile business, to leading Group IM, to becoming Country Head , and today, he stands as EX Country Head, Mobile Experience, for Samsung Pakistan & Afghanistan, shaping product strategy, customer engagement, and market growth across two countries.

Leadership, for Umer, has never just been about titles , it's about vision and voice. He authored "30 Seconds Window," sharing hard-earned insights on navigating toxicity in the corporate world .
