Building a bridge between academic excellence and industrial innovation, Iftikhar Hussain, President of the UCP Alumni Association, recently convened a strategic visit to Airlink Communication Ltd.

The meeting was held with Adnan Aftab, CEO of Select Technologies ( a subsidiary of Airlinks ltd) to discuss high-impact career pathways and growth opportunities for UCP graduates.

The UCP delegation, led by worthy Pro-Rector Dr. Hammad Naveed, Dean of Engineering Rizwan Shad, and the Director of Innovation (Takhleeq) Yaser Awan engaged in a productive dialogue regarding industry-academic collaboration.

A central part of the visit included a comprehensive tour of the Xiaomi mobile and TV assembly lines, where Adnan Aftab provided deep operational insights into the precision of modern manufacturing.

This engagement served to align faculty expertise with the evolving technical needs of the manufacturing sector, ensuring our graduates remain at the forefront of the industry.

The Alumni Relations Office proudly launches UCP ايثار — our Endowment Fund drive dedicated to strengthening the Alumni Endowment Fund and expanding our collective impact.

Last year, PKR 5.1 million transformed the journeys of 64 deserving students.
Today, the fund stands at PKR 1.7 million.
Our next milestone: PKR 10 million — building a sustainable future for generations to come.

A strategic engagement successfully convened by the President, UCP Alumni Association, Mr. Iftikhar Hussain, bringing together leadership from the University of Central Punjab and Sapphire Fibres Limited to advance meaningful academia–industry collaboration.

The meeting was graced by Dr. Hammad Naveed, Honorable Pro Rector, University of Central Punjab; Dean FOMS, Dr. Athar Siddiqui; Director Takhleeq, Yasser Aamer Awan; and Mian Bazaf Shahbaz, Central Vice President Placements, UCP Alumni Association. Deliberations centered on forging a robust partnership between SFL and UCP, with focused discussions on sustainability, engineering innovation, and applied problem-solving—an essential step toward building a future-ready talent pipeline and strengthening institutional synergy between academia and industry.

The Alumni Endowment Fund Committee convened to review and approve financial assistance for nearly 11 deserving students reinforcing our shared commitment to access, equity, and educational continuity.
