‎IAS-UMT Hosted the 2nd International Conference on Aviation

‎Institute of Aviation Studies at University of Management and Technology, successfully held the International Conference on Aviation (ICA) on 3rd June 2026, bringing together academicians, industry experts and students.

‎Maj. Gen. (Retd.) Khalil Dar, Vice Chancellor Lahore Garrison University, served as Chief Guest, while Dr. Saad Rehman Pro-Rector, Imperial College, Air Cdre (Retd.) Muhammad Atif, Director General Aviation, KPK, Mr. Naeem Mahmood Chief Engineer PIA, and Mr. Jamil Ahmad Chairman PIFFA attended as Guests of Honour.

‎International speakers included Prof. Dr. Ferhan Sengur (Türkiye), Prof. Dr. Erhan Butun (Türkiye), Dr. Rashid Ali (UK), Dr. Leah Fox (UK), and Mr. Yousaf Hashmi (UAE) who discussed the current challenges and future prospects in commercial aviation. BS and MS students of different universities also presented their ongoing research to get feedback from seasoned scholars and industry leaders.

‎The event was sponsored by Sky Echlipse, Royal Aeronautical Society Pakistan Division , Ocean Institute of Technology International .pakistan, and concluded with a raffle draw, in which AirSial announced a free return air ticket from Lahore to Skardu for the lucky participant, adding excitement to the closing session.

A successful aviation learning experience for IAS students.

Students of BS Aviation Professional Pilot, undertook an aerial experience flight onboard the DA62, in collaboration with from Lahore to waypoint ENRIR, approximately 50 NM westbound of Lahore. The total flight duration was around 1 hour and 20 minutes.

This activity enabled students to gain firsthand exposure to multi-engine aircraft operations, navigation, situational awareness, and professional cockpit procedures an important step towards practical aviation learning.

Good to see our students experiencing aviation beyond the classroom environment.
