*How to calculate load capacity of scaffolding.?*

Three Types of scaffolding (OSHA).

Light Duty : 25 lbs = 125 kg / m²
3m(lengtg)× 1.25m (width)

Medium duty : 50lbs = 250 kg/m²
2m(lengtg)× 1.25m (width)

High duty : 75lbs = 370 kg /m²
1.5m( length)1.25m (width)

Load increase inversely proportional length decrease .

Light duty scaffolding .
Bay = L×W
= 3× 1.25
= 3.75m²
125× 375
= 468 kg

How to calculate scaffolding safe work load.
(SWL).?

SWL = D+(4×L)

D: Dead weight
L: live weight

Dead weight = weight of scaffolding , working component, platform weight.

Live weight = Tools (Material) Human being.

Example,
SWL = D+(4×L)
= 200+(4×70)
SWL = 480 .
480 weight is use for light duty scaffolding.
