A Proud Milestone for SSAHS!
Shalamar School of Allied Health Sciences (SSAHS) proudly congratulates our Pincipal, Dr. Javeria Aslam, on successfully completing her PhD in Biomedicine and Health Sciences from Universidad Europea, Spain, in an impressive 3.5 years.
Her doctoral research, "The Impact of Innovative Technology Strategies on Implementing Exercise Programs Using Fully Immersive Virtual Reality for Postpartum Women," represents a pioneering contribution to rehabilitation science. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first published randomized controlled trial worldwide to evaluate a fully immersive virtual reality rehabilitation program for postpartum women with lumbopelvic pain, comprehensively assessing 15 clinical outcomes.
A highlight of this remarkable achievement is that Dr. Aslam was awarded the prestigious Cum Laude distinction following an Outstanding evaluation by the PhD Defense Tribunal. Cum Laude is the highest academic distinction awarded for a doctoral thesis by Spanish universities, recognizing exceptional originality, scientific quality, and excellence in research.
Further adding to this milestone, the first research article from her PhD has been published in PeerJ, a Q1 international peer-reviewed journal indexed in Web of Science and Scopus, reflecting the international quality, visibility, and impact of her research.
