Every year on March 21, International Forest Day is observed to increase understanding of the value of forests to both the environment and human welfare. Around 31% of the world's land area is covered by forests, which offer essential ecosystem services like controlling the climate, filtering water, storing carbon, and promoting biodiversity. In addition to providing timber, fuelwood, non-timber forest products, and nature tourism, forests also benefit the economy. Deforestation, degradation, fragmentation, and climate change are all threats to forests, though. Therefore, it is crucial that we conserve and sustainably manage our forests for our own benefit as well as for future generations. For the sake of our world and future generations, it is crucial to preserve and restore forests.By doing so, we can ensure that forests continue to provide us with healthy environments , healthy products , healthy lifestyles , healthy communities , healthy economies and a healthy planet . Let us celebrate International Day of Forests by appreciating the gifts that forests give us every day and by taking action to protect them for ourselves and for posterity.
