Sadness, feeling down, and having a loss of interest or pleasure in daily activities are familiar feelings for all of us. But if they persist and affect our lives substantially, the issue may be depression.

Depression is a mood disorder that involves a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest.

If u have following symptoms or u have experienced them ever, u may have depression. 1.Trouble concentrating, remembering details, and making decisions.
2.Fatigue.
3.Feelings of guilt.
4.Worthlessness, helplessness,pessimism.
5. Insomnia, early-morning wakefulness or sleeping too much.
6. Overeating or appetite loss.
7. Aches, pains, headaches or cramps that won't go away.
8. Digestive problems that don't get better.
9. Persistent sad.
10. Suicidal thoughts or su***de attempts.

Factors that are likely to play a role include:
Genetic features,changes in the brain’s neurotransmitter levels,environmental factors
psychological and social factors,additional conditions, such as bipolar disorder.

The treatment recommended will be based on the type of depression you have.
Treatment for depression usually involves a combination of self-help, talking therapies (CBT and IPT) and medicines ( usually antidepressants).
