Course Title: Introduction to Arabic Language for Beginners
Course Duration: 10 weeks (40 minutes per class)
Course Description:
This course is designed for individuals with little to no prior knowledge of Arabic language. It aims to develop basic communication skills in everyday situations and build a strong foundation in Arabic vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing, and pronunciation. Throughout the course, students will engage in various interactive activities and exercises to reinforce their learning and develop conversational skills.
Course Outline:
Week 1: Introduction to Arabic Alphabet and Basic Pronunciation
- Introduction to Arabic script
- Learning and practicing individual letter sounds
- Basic pronunciation rules and exercises
Week 2: Greetings and Introductions
- Different ways of greeting and introducing oneself
- Basic phrases for small talk and formal introductions
- Role-playing exercises to practice greetings and introductions
Week 3: Arabic Vocabulary - Getting to Know You
- Common vocabulary related to family, friends, and personal information
- Building simple sentences
- Vocabulary drills and practice conversations
Week 4: Numbers, Time, and Dates
- Learning Arabic numerals and basic counting
- Telling time and days of the week
- Describing dates and scheduling activities
Week 5: Everyday Activities and Directions
- Vocabulary related to daily routines, activities, and locations
- Asking for and giving directions
- Mapping exercises and simulated conversations
Week 6: Food and Drinks
- Common food and beverage vocabulary
- Ordering meals, snacks, and drinks
- Role-playing activities at a restaurant or cafe
Week 7: Shopping and Bargaining
- Vocabulary related to shopping and items in stores
- Conversational skills for bargaining and negotiating prices
- Role-playing exercises in a marketplace setting
Week 8: Travel and Transportation
- Essential transportation-related vocabulary
- Asking for and giving directions in different modes of transportation
- Simulated conversations and travel scenarios
Week 9: Arabic Grammar - Sentence Structure and Verb Conjugation
- Basic sentence structure and word order
- Introduction to verb conjugation in different tenses
- Grammar exercises and sentence construction practice
Week 10: Wrap-up and Review
- Reviewing key vocabulary, grammar, and conversational skills
- Practice conversations for reinforcement
