Garlic Pepper Beef Stir-Fry ๐ฅฉ๐ง
A savory, garlicky stir-fry with tender beef, crispy vegetables, and bold flavorsโa quick and hearty dish for any meal!
Ingredients:
1 lb (500g) beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
1 tbsp cornstarch
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tsp sugar
1/4 cup vegetable oil (divided)
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 green bell pepper, sliced
10โ12 whole garlic cloves, peeled
2 green chilies (optional), sliced
For the Sauce:
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp hoisin sauce
1/4 cup beef broth or water
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp cornstarch (mixed with 1 tbsp water)
Instructions:
1๏ธโฃ Marinate the Beef:
In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, and cornstarch. Toss well and let it marinate for 15โ20 minutes.
2๏ธโฃ Sear the Beef:
Heat 2 tbsp of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the beef in batches and sear for 1โ2 minutes per side until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
3๏ธโฃ Sautรฉ Garlic & Vegetables:
Add the remaining oil to the skillet. Toss in the whole garlic cloves and stir-fry for 1โ2 minutes until golden and fragrant.
Add the sliced red and green bell peppers, and green chilies (if using), and stir-fry for 2โ3 minutes until slightly tender but still crisp.
4๏ธโฃ Make the Sauce:
In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, beef broth, and black pepper. Pour the sauce into the skillet with the vegetables.
Add the cornstarch slurry and stir until the sauce thickens slightly.
5๏ธโฃ Combine and Serve:
Return the seared beef to the skillet and toss everything together until coated in the sauce. Cook for an additional 1โ2 minutes.
Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles and garnish with extra black pepper if desired.
