لاہور، 5 ستمبر: یونیورسٹی آف ہیلتھ سائنسز (UHS) کے ایڈوانسڈ اسٹڈیز اینڈ ریسرچ بورڈ کا 205واں اجلاس جمعرات کو وائس چانسلر پروفیسر احسن وحید راٹھور کی زیر صدارت منعقد ہوا جس میں ڈاکٹر امبر سلمان کو اناٹومی کے شعبے میں پی ایچ ڈی کی ڈگری دینے کی منظوری دی گئی۔

ان کا مقالہ "کارٹیلیجنس اینڈ پلیٹ میں تبدیلیاں اور ان کا ہڈی کے اینڈ پلیٹ جنکشن اور ساتھ موجود ڈسک سے تعلق: ایک ریڈیالوجیکل، میکروسکوپک، مائیکروسکوپک اور الٹرا مائیکروسٹرکچرل مطالعہ" کے عنوان سے ہے۔ یہ مطالعہ ریڑھ کی ہڈی کے مہرے اور ان کے درمیان موجود ڈسکس کے الیکٹران مائیکروسکوپی جائزے پر مبنی ہے۔ یہ تحقیق ریڑھ کی ہڈی کے مسائل کے بہتر علاج اور پیش بینی میں مددگار ثابت ہوگی۔ ڈاکٹر امبر سلمان کی سپروائزر یو ایچ ایس اناٹومی ڈیپارٹمنٹ کی سربراہ ڈاکٹر عروج زہرہ تھیں۔

Her thesis, "Changes in the cartilaginous endplate and their correlation with its bony endplate junction and adjacent disc: A radiological, macroscopic, microscopic and ultra-microstructural study," is a significant contribution to the field of anatomy and spine research.

It's a pleasure to announce that our two MPhil students, Dr Maria and Dr Kinza Fatima have achieved outstanding success, securing 1st and 3rd prizes in the oral postgraduate research competition at the 8th International Conference on "Healthcare and Health Education in the AI Era" held at Shalamar Medical College.
This marks the fifth consecutive year that students from the Department of Anatomy at UHS have been among the prize winners, with our department proudly taking home two awards this year. Congratulations to our talented students on this remarkable achievement

Dr. Maria Zafar successfully defended her MPhil Anatomy thesis titled "Alterations in The Histological Features and VEGF Expression During Fracture Healing of Rat Femur After Administration of Non-Selective COX and Selective COX2 Inhibitors."
Her research sheds light on the intricate mechanisms involved in fracture healing, particularly exploring the effects of Non-Selective COX and Selective COX2 Inhibitors on histological features and VEGF expression in rat femurs. This work contributes valuable insights to the field of anatomy and orthopedics.
