The Department successfully hosted a talk titled “𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧” by Dr. Fahd Ali (LUMS) on 14 April. The session was organized for students enrolled in the course “Issues in Pakistan’s Economy” under the BS Economics with Data Science program. Dr. Fahd Ali shared valuable insights into the country’s evolving macroeconomic landscape, engaging students in a thoughtful and informative discussion. The Department extends its gratitude to Dr. Fahd Ali for his time and contribution.

Master of Public Policy Students from the Department of Governance & Global Studies attended an engaging conversation on “𝗣𝗮𝗸𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻’𝘀 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗢𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿” featuring Mr.Ishrat Hussain and Mr.Raza Rumi, organized by the Forum of Fikr o Amal.

This session offered critical insights into Pakistan’s ongoing economic challenges, including rising inequality, inflation, and structural constraints to industrialization. Speakers highlighted the urgent need for policy reforms, energy security strategies, and inclusive economic planning to protect vulnerable populations and stimulate sustainable growth.

Students and participants actively engaged with ideas on governance, economic justice, and the role of public policy in navigating global uncertainties.

An Informative learning experience demonstrating how dialogue, expertise, and policy innovation can shape a more resilient economic future for Pakistan.
